We used an older GPS Unit when we started the hobby of Geocashing. We soon found that we needed a unit that would allow us to not only find Geocashes but also allow us to place them. This unit has many extras including tools that will allow you to track the distance from one point to another etc.. The only problem we have experienced with this unit is the instruction manual could be written in plainer language or atleast include a glossery for the tech terms that it uses..We basiclly had to figure a few things out on our own and are still learning new tricks and features as we go.. This is a great product for the money, and is very durable.
Please note, I am reviewing solely on what I have seen of the product thus far. It is a Christmas gift for my nephews, and it looks to be the perfect starter kit for geocaching. The device itself looks user friendly, and the accessories are just what they need to get started.
Nice product but not exactly what hubby wanted. I am returning it but for others it maybe just what they wanted/need.
My son and I have been able to use this fairly easily for geocaching. It is good for beginners, but those who use it need to make sure the caches they want to download are saved in GPX format.
