Have had this watch for about a month now and I could not love it more. The technology on this is incredible, all of the metrics are super detailed and informative. Haven't tried hiking yet to test out the map feature but looking forward to it in the spring. The look of this watch is also so sleek I just love it (got the cream gold and light sand). Only issue is that I haven't been able to connect my headphones, I have aftershokz unsure what to do here.
I bought this watch about two weeks ago and have been wearing it daily. The battery lasts about 11days when not recording activities with gps. The multi-sport features are great. I've used the watch to record HIIT, strength, and cardio workouts at the gym, gravel bike rides, and alpine skiing. it definitely takes some time to learn how to use all the features, but it becomes intuitive. Heart rate sensor works well. It measures my body battery and sleep patterns. It also shows temperature, altitude, gos coordinates. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the solar charging works during outdoor activities in the summer.
I've had the Fenix 5s, 6s, and now 7s. It just keeps getting better. I was worried about the touch screen being finicky, but it's been so nice and I actually use it quite a bit. I love the solar charging, beautiful screen, and of course all the data that comes along with such a high-tech watch.
I had a vivoactive 4s and I couldn't find anything other than venu locally to decide on my upgrade. This watch has a ton of metrics and comes in a size that doesn't look like a sundial on my wrist. If the 965 had come in a smaller size I may have had a harder time deciding. I'm still learning the metrics but it's so interesting to have all of this data for workouts, to training, to sleep and health. Plus the Fenix is dressy enough to wear. 24/7. I do wish it had been cheaper since the smaller size equals smaller battery but it's not like I'm super off grid. Looking forward to trying the maps hiking.
I bit the bullet and bought this watch when it was on sale. I previously had 3 vivo active Garmin. When my last watch heart rate died I knew it was time to invest in a nice watch. I am a very active runner. I have loved the upgrades this watch has. The battery life has been a huge upgrade. I use GPS a lot for when I go on walks or runs and I still get several days out of the battery. I am 5”3 and have small wrists but the 42 fits just right.
Everything is awesome on this watch including software, gps and size. I have a 7.5 rist and it fits perfect. Fenix 7S The buckle is a little sharp on the under wrist but I am getting used to it.
I bought Garmin fenix 7s and all is OK besides silicone band that cause very strong allergy on my hand. Washing and cleaning it after the training doesn't help.
I like the watch. But the wristband is very tight or very lose, it doesn't have a hole in between and I feel unconfortable. It is very bulky. I have small wrist. It is ok, I am enjoying my watch.
I have owned a Fenix 5s sapphire glass for the past 5 years on my left wrist which has flower and lace tattoo. Never did I have a problem. I wanted to upgrade to the 7s solar so I did. My biggest regret is that I sold my 5S already. Once I got my watch it never wanted to read my heart rate but maybe for 2 to 30 minutes out of the day. Very sporadic if it would catch your heart rate. So I returned it and got another one thinking it was something wrong with Watch. Shortly after getting a new one I realized it was doing the same thing. My husband and brought to my attention he wondered if there was a chance it had something to do with my tattoo. So I moved the watch to my right wrist ( which I am not a fan of) but it is never not read the heart rate since. So I'm guessing we clearly found out that it is the tattoo that it will not read through. Although the watch is beautiful it is pretty useless if it doesn't read my heart rate. I have since brought it to Garmins attention. It seems like this day and age you would want to make sure it works through tattoos means everybody has them. I guess they changed the lights on the back from the 5 to the 7 and that is why the five works for me but the 7 didn't. I will post a picture of my wrist so you can see that it is not fully covered in tattoo.
I bought fenix 7s saphire solar edition last year. I was somewhat disappointed in that it didn't have the EKG feature like the year old apple watch. The wrist based HR monitor works well in day to day activity. However, on the days I run or ride my bike, the heart rate monitor seems to be off by more than 10% which at times puts me in a higher training zones. I now use a Polar arm based HR monitor when I exercise. The altimeter is quirky. At times it shows that I'm below sea level. I calibrate it each time I go out but even then at times it shows different altitudes at the same point. In several occasions, a track workout shows like I'm running up and down hills. This would be an unusual 400m track if had 1m peaks every 10m. Pictures 1 and 2 are workouts on different days ame track (notice the altitiude are not the same) Just recently, the swim gyro went out and stopped counting laps. Luckily, the watch was 11 months and a couple of days old and under warranty. Garmin is replacing it with a refurbished watch. The refurbished watch still has the same altimeter issue. The 3rd picture is from the refurbished watch on the same track, notice the peaks and valleys and variances as time passes. I've lost faith in Garmin as the go to company for the endurance athlete. Their prime expertise (Altimeter, GPS) doesn't work on these watches.
