I absolutely love everything about this watch. It is the most perfect watch ever. This watch has so many features that it's impossible to name them all. A few of my favorite things about this watch is that is tracks my runs, hikes, sleep, training readiness, and stress levels accurately. The battery life is something like 14 days! Much better than the Apple brand. Get it!
I had a Garmin Forerunner 245 Music that stopped working and I upgraded to this watch. WOW! What an amazing watch. All of the features of my Forerunner PLUS Solar Charging which I LOVE and need for hiking and camping! Daily use with only texting and calls turned on (turned off other apps) so my battery lasts three weeks! It's winter so haven't been able to solar charge much but it did work while snowshoeing this weekend.
Always been impressed with the fenix series watches, and the 7S solar sure does not disappoint! Love the battery life and the endless features (way more than I'll ever use) the only thing I'd change if I could is how thick it is on my wrist.
The battery life is phenomenal, the ability to run with GPS as a guide while in an activity and still be able to charge your watch while doing the activity is amazing. I have run marathons and have never been concerned to run out of battery, which my other friends are envious about. After a 4 hour trail run with GPS guidance I still had 72% battery left. As a slow aging runner this is important to me. Thank you Garmin
I bought it because I love the looks. I have the forerunner 945 and most of the features are similar. Except the Phoenix is a Watch I could wear to work, and it looks more elegant than the forerunner.I use them to track my runs . And I run marathons. The battery life of the four runners, a little longer, but still the battery life of the Phoenix could be 11 days, so no complaints. The Phoenix doesn't track sleep, but that's a feature I could live without. Also, I haven't figured out and maybe it's not possible to use any key to hold to unlock the watch. I love being able to use the hold feature on a key to lock the watch, and then to hold any key to unlock, because while, I'm running it's easier not to think “well which key am I supposed to hold“. With the Phoenix, you're supposed to only hold a certain key to unlock, but that I think it's a feature that other people prefer so that they don't unlock the watch by accident.
Brighter display, familiar and also easier new features, love the new things: training readiness, morning review, solar! Actually here in the north in the winter the solar doesn't get much light time but when I'm outside- it shows a big spike so I know it is working well. Seems lighter than my 6s (non solar) but probably just me. Have had it almost a month and super happy with the upgrade. Well worth the money for an everyday active multi sport athlete. This watch does everything!
I dumped the Apple watch because I saw that the data collected was more comprehensive, and the guidance provided by the Garmin software was intuitive and helpful. I'm okay with fewer smartwatch features and apps to adjust thermostats or open garage doors. The Fenix does the smartwatch basics well, including Garmin Pay. I now feel less distracted by apps features and more focused on my health, which I wanted. My only disappointment was that the lineup choices needed to be clearer. I appreciate the many models available, but I was disappointed that the EKG feature would be with the Pro model when released. I'm very happy with the watch and all it tracks and helps me with.
I love my Fenix 7 S Solar, but, I'm not sure the solar works. I can be outdoors all day and it goes from 11 days down to 7. Twice now it has lost GPS. Yesterday I thought I only walked 10 miles on the Camino and it was actually 15.6. I need something more reliable.
I purchased this a few weeks ago. As with any new product from Garmin, it has its ups and downs. I love the functionality - all except one thing. Wifi connection - it doesn't stay connected long enough to download large apps (Spotify) from Garmin connect I cannot get spotify to download to the watch. I don't know if Garmin connect or the wifi on the watch needs an upgrade. My watch connects to the 2.4ghz wifi both at home and on another network, but Garmin Connect does not recognize the watch connecting to wifi. Everytime I go to load Spotify on the watch it says I am not connected to wifi in Garmin Connect. I'm a tech savy person and have worked thru all the upper level garmin support documents and with support a couple of times now. Of course, no one else is reporting this problem. I had an early Garmin 645 music and never could get the the music to work with that either. I've tried the ski app and some of the women's features and like that. The ski app is very cool as long as it doen't turn off by inadvertant button pushes with gloves, but that is probably more user error than device error. I
The watch is a disappointment. It's hard to see most of the actions. The screen is dim and dull. I'm disappointed by the functioning. I haven't been able to use the workout functions and can't track my workout because I can't see the screen.
