I've got this just before my half marathon in March and have had it for just about 3 weeks. I still toying with the function and setting but overall it has been doing what I need and want from a watch. It's smart but as an Apple guy I wish it would talk and link with my peloton. When it comes to racing and running I like that it helps me keep a pace and tracks my performance
I went from a FR620 to a FR735XT several years ago to get the wrist heart rate and had been enjoying the watch and its features until I was in a bicycle accident and totally destroyed it. I called Garmin after reviewing the product line and, as I already have an Apple Watch (yes, I wear two watches), I decided to go with the less expensive Forerunner series over the Fenix. Wow! This watch has everything, and the technology seems to have advanced light years. The watch provides suggestions each day on an appropriate workout and keeps track of your "battery." Once you get accustomed to the watch, you realize how intuitive the software is and how much fun this watch is to wear.
I had a Vivoactive for over 10 years and I spent months looking into its replacement. I wanted a watch that could support my active lifestyle, was stylist but super functional and long lasting. The 955 Solar (Forerunner) is the best watch I could have have ever asked for. I swim 2-3 miles/week, run 10-15 miles/week, and bike between 15-30 miles/week and this watch definitely keeps up. The only thing I wish it tracked better was my swim distance during my kick sets (has stroke detection so when not using your arms it doesn't track) but the watch has built in music so you can listen to music without running or carrying your phone. Overall, very satisfied with this watch. Send me another for FR$$ :)
I bought this watch no longer ago and I believe it's great with great features.
After a few weeks, I'm loving the much better battery life and excellent GPS accuracy born from the multiband functionality compared to my previous 945LTE.
Bought after a certain square watch died 3 times in the lap pool. Swim coach and triathlon friends had a Garmin so I got one. I'm not at their level but enjoy the tracking and coaching features. Ties into my Garmin gear on bike. Still looks good a year after swim bike run. Garmin support via chat has been very helpful too.
I bought this about 4 weeks ago and only had to charge it twice. A must have for anyone that runs or athletic.
I bought the what in white when I got an email with it on sale. I did some research and comparison to my Venu3 and decided it had a couple features my venue didn't. I have a certain screen that displays allot of data and it isn't as vivid on the 955 as the Venu3. I have a small wrist and really like the watch band compare to the others, it provides more options with more security of staying on.
I bought this a month ago as I have begun getting deeper into marathon training…. I wanted something that offered me an all in one package.. and the Garmin Forerunner 955 does exactly that… No need for a million different apps to train and track… Plus the battery life is amazing… it's only had to sit on the charger once over the last month… I haven't had a chance to really see the solar charging work, as it's been pretty gloomy since fall hit… I love the white with black accent color.
