This product was purchased to map fire lines for a volunteer fire department in order to have a better knowledge of the size of wildland fires. It works very well for this purpose.
This is a replacement for an earlier Garmin product that died of old age after years of successful use. Garmin is THE WORLD LEADER in GPS technology and is in use by aviation at all levels. I have Garmin GPS for locating fishing hot spots and navigating thru woods where there is no trail. Practice with the unit and use will become second nature.
This is a great gps. It is easy to use. Will be very helpfull this hunting season.
Great unit for beginer Geocacher.
This GPS is great and accurate. It took me several times to read the book to understand to work it. After you figure it out its pretty easy. The downfalls is it doesnt show roads. I didnt think I would need that feature, but it would have helped. I am a guy that didnt have a whole lot to spend (moneywise). If I had the money I would have got something you could put a card in. I use this gps for geocaching, and it stores geocachs, and when you find them it marks them as found. This is my favorite thing about the gps. Then after you find it, you can go to the next geocache on the list. You can upload goecaches onto this gps. It took me awhile to figure out how to do this, but after I tinkered with it long enough I figured it out. I had to disable something on the top of the webpage box. Now I can download quite a few caches on my gps. Overall I like it. I got it within 2 days by fed ex. It ended up costing me 174$ in all. I returned it. It did not have a base map. I loaded one for my previous Garmin etrex. It did not even display the road I live on; whereas. my old one did. I liked the controls and the speed with which it found the location. Garmin never responded to my first email for help. By the time they answered my second email it was returned. I figured they were tired of hearing of problems or the shipped the email to India.
