We used this on a trip to Chicago, Illinois. Not being familiar with the area, and dealing with heavy traffic, it was a Godsend! There was a bit of a glitch when we first plugged it in, but it corrected itself once it was restarted. We ran into construction in several places, but the Garmin quickly came up with an alternate route to get us back on track. Very Cool! This was purchased for my brother, but now my husband is purchasing one for us as well. :)
this is a good gps and i love the big screen.its very easy to navigate and work.
I love this GPS. There may be better ones, but I cannot imagine what features they would have that would be better.
Although I haven't been on a long trip yet with my Garmin, I love it already. I like the location feature for finding restaurants, gas stations etc. My family has a couple of trips to make this summer and look forward to using the Garmin to guide us there. The Garmin Nuvi 200W is very easy to use and the larger screen is a plus.
An easy to use GPS that is very sleek & has a widescreen format. I bought another model of Garmin but later seen this one online. The other was easy to use but bulkier and a smaller screen. So I returned it and paid a small difference for the newer model. Has all the updated maps which was an 80 dollar expense in itself. You can not go wrong with the Garmin Nuvi 200w, it is amazing.
The Garman nuvi 200w is a great product, I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a GPS. All of Garman's GPS's are good. It just depends on what features you want. I am very happy with mine, have it on every time I get in the car. Simple to use easy to install, just plug it into the cigarette lighter and go. I have looked for this product at other stores, but Wal-Mart has the best price of all.
This unit works well all over the country. It does not verbalize street names, but it tells you where to turn. Street names are displayed on the unit. The larger screen and the screens brightness are a plus. I have used this unit on multiple business trips, and find it to be invaluable.
Overall the unit is great. Size and weight o.k. I find it very easy to use and quite intuitive. I like the added width compared to the Nuvi 200. Vision in sunlight is acceptable. The mounting hardware provided is excellent. Internal battery life has been a little over 4 hours. On the down side. The unit came with 2008 maps installed and 2009 was available. Downloading from my home was a challenge. The 2GB file took about 12 hours with broadband service then it failed because the Nuvi did not have enough memory. I had added nothing to consume memory and the optional SD card apparently does not effect this part of the device. I emailed their support folks and was instructed how to unload some "stuff" that wasn't necessary. 12 hrs later it was done. If you can get a CD, I would recommend it. The support staff was excellent and responded quickly to my distress email. Bottom line.......Good buy for the money, great navigator and great help facilities.
The Garmin 200W is a good basic level GPS . It does exactly as advertised. If you want all the bells and whistles (including weather, and traffic alerts) the 200 is not for you. If you need to get from point A to point B this product is exactly what you are looking for. The wide screen is excellent. My only complaint is that it can take several minutes to locate satellites on start up. After it has accomplished this task you are on your way.
this gps is very good i bought it for my brother and he says it good but there are some draw backs for this gps one is the battery life two was the signal time it takes way to long i own a 2004 lexis and that has a built in one and that one is way better but its good for the price another bad thing is that it gets confused very easily and some times very bad oh overall its good buy it but it simple
