We had an older model garmin but had to pay for updates. So we decided to order one with maps updates free. Updates cost a little less than the new garmin.
Got it for my wife and she is very happy with it. Has hidden it away so I don't steal it from her!
This is my 4rd Garmin purchase from Sams Club. I purchased this one as a gift for my son. Great price and the product is awesome!
Being a good map reader ( got something from pilot training) and having the Garmin makes travel easier. Being up-dateable makes travel even easier. It's about the same price to already own an older unit and add this feature. I consider it a good value. The initial programming was a hair complex as the updates and initial setup may be different on different computer platforms. My MAC did not like it on Safari but a quick switch to Firefox and great support from the help telephone desk with a real person who was very patient and we figured it out it was the not the products problem. In minutes we had it humming and it works great.
I was given one of these Garmin Nuvis last year. I enjoyed it so much I purchased this to give as a gift. It's easy to use, the turn by turn directions are right on and the picture of the expressway exits are very helpful in determining which lane to be in. The perfect gift for the traveller!
I love the multiple lanes and the split screen map that appear when conditions apply, especially driving in Pittsburgh traffic. Lifetime maps is an additional charge through Garmin but comes with the unit at Sam's.
I am very please with the quality, pricing, reliability and accuracy of the Garmin nuvi 2455LM.
This unit has some great features; particularly like the picture view of highway exits. Really helps be sure of route.
I got this unit last week... Hmmmm. it took over night to down load the maps update on a new compuuter...THEN when I try to map a trip to Indiana from Michigan.. it shows up as not available.. only maps Michigan Sites ! I am very discouraged and the "dashboard" from Garmin will NOT add the EXTRAS to my GARMIN GPS... So far I am not so happy with this thing.
Received gift in good time. However, there is not an USB cable to hook to compputer for map updates. Listed on box as supplied.
