We just upgraded to this fridge after having a top freezer fridge that came with our house that was probably about 15 years old. We just got it but already it's much quieter than our old fridge and the layout of the fridge compartment is great. While this is by no means a large fridge, but the overall layout is nice. All of our condiments and jars fit on the doors and I love the options with the crisper drawers. For a small space fridge it feels like there is tons of room.
We needed a counter depth refrigerator to replace the GE Cafe' that had failed at year 15. We have had the refrigerator for two weeks and it is performing well. It is narrower than our old one and therefore has less capacity and is not as high end as the Cafe". It is quiet and seems to keep foods at the appropriate temperature. Main con is size of the vegetable drawers.
This is a beautiful fridge - sleek and well-designed. The 33” fit perfectly in my tight galley kitchen, and the counter depth was perfect. Although it is less deep than other fridges, the interior design feels spacious for all the food storage I need. Cooled down quickly after installation - about 2 hours and it was ready to go!
I received my GE refrigerator on Wednesday September 18, 2024. The delivery process and set up was seamless!!! Thus far I absolutely love my new refrigerator!!! I absolutely love the French doors, the freezer at the bottom, the brightness of lighting, the configuration of the shelves and large door bins, the storage bins and the door alarm settings. At this point I highly recommend this GE refrigerator. Thank you.
Almost 24 hours since my GE French door refrigerator was installed. Installation was quick and painless. My amazement came later when ice maker dumped first load within 3 hours of being installed. Noise from new GE has a quieter humming sound than my past fridge which I'm extremely happy about due to having hearing issues. Our previous fridge was 25 cubic ft. The new GE at 18 cubic ft seems equally spacious. I'm hoping that it will work longer than my previous one. In less than 24 hours I'm loving the new GE French Door.
We have an older home that only has a space for a 33" wide refrigerator, basically counter depth. We needed to replace an older LG refrigerator which was 24 cubic ft., and this GE was well-rated, but much smaller (just over 18 cubic ft.). It was all we could find, so I ordered it. I was shocked at how small it was, and how little flexibility there is to arrange interior shelves. Any beverages (like juice, milk, etc) can ONLY go in the door, and the shelves are barely deep enough to put in a 13 x 9" pan. Anything around the top vent freezes, so we hae to be careful what we put there. The shelving in the doors, as well as the inside drawers feel extremely cheap - I hope they last. The pull-out freezer drawer is extremely small, super unstable, and rocks each time you open and shut it. I have no idea how the LG found all that extra space in a refrigerator that appeared to be the same size. The filtered water is accessed from the inside and is very awkward. GE could and should do better. On the positive side, the ice maker works great, and the stainless finish is nice.
We have had this frig for a year now. I compare it to most beautiful women, great looking but very high maintenance. In one year we have had 2 maintenance calls. Ice build up in frig and freezer, crazy noisy sounds, food freezing in fridge but getting soft in freezer. Each time he used a small electric device….to tell us that on a specific date we left the a door ajar. He turned our temp up to 40* instead of recommended 37*. Getting water requires 2 hands and leaning way in and takes about 15 seconds to fill a coffee cup. Could that be causing the “ajar” concerns??? We can't put anything in front of the vent on top shelf since that causes freezing up. So 7 inches of the top shelf are not usable in an already tiny fridge. The noises are crazy. Sometimes I think someone is in the shower but it's the fridge. Disconcerting when it happens in the middle of the night. It hums away but if you open the door it stops. Also has a growling sound that starts up anytime. Our LG was perfect but compresser died in 6 years. Our previous fridges lasted a minimum of 20 years. We never buy extra warranty but we got 3 years extended. I doubt this fridge will make it. Outside of its attractive appearance we have nothing good to say about a fridge that you have to watch constantly to make sure it's doing its job.
This is a cheaply made refrigerator. The plastic parts on the shelves (supports and wheels for the vegetable drawers) have already cracked off so the drawers no longer roll out and the shelf does not sit flat. We are only two older adults who are not rough on our appliances. This is a terrible refrigerator. Also the ice maker works sometimes when it wants to.
Brand new... door seals leak, runs 24/7, only cools to 57 degrees, frosts up on top back then melts, gets everything wet. Sent in freezer door, scratches sir handle. Complained and they will send someone almost a month later
This is my replacement after 7 months and the freezer has had frosting flakes on it and I still can't keep the fridge at the recommended temp of 37° without my lettuce freezing. I am disappointed that I can't seem to get a different model and the freezer is TINY.
