I needed a window AC and shopped to find one with an affordable price and a brand I can trust & depend on. GE is that brand! I've always owned GE appliances from deep freezers, refrigerators, washing/dryer, etc., it's just a great, dependable, long lasting brand! I'm running the AC now, and it feels absolutely wonderful! Thanks GE! 🙂🙂
It does what it is supposed to. I would put this in a single.room and expect it to only cool that room. It is a small unit! I put it in my livingroom and the air doesn't reach to other rooms. But it did say that it was for small rooms! I actually really.like it though. For 140 it was a great buy and will be buying at least 2 more! It also comes with the supplies to fit into the window!
Perfect for a room and cools really good. Cheaper at Walmart than other places. I already had one and Walmart was $20 cheaper than what I paid for the other one. I live in a mobile home so sometimes the big AC needs help. Doesn't seem to make much difference in electric bill. Easy to install.
My store actually had these in stock so I purchased from there and the unit has been running 2 days. Here is why I am giving this 5 stars at this point. First off, I have a 2400sq ft home with the ducts in the floors. For some reason, the master bedroom in the last week or so has been blowing air at 76-78 degrees from the vents....while the rest of the vents in the house are blowing 68 degrees. I figure something major has happened and for need need a temporary solution. The master bedroom is 16ft X 15ft(240sw ft) not counting the bathroom and walk-in closet. My problem was, my 2 windows are these tiny 18in wide windows. I was trying to find a 6,000 BTU because that is recommended for the size room. However, all the 6,000 units were actually 18in to 20in alone without the "wings"..So I had to settle for this 5,000 BTU which covers 150 sq ft. The unit fit fine after I had to trim a few inches off the wings (with wings it made everything 23in wide). The installation was actually 10 minutes until I had to trim. After about 20 minutes of running on full fan speed and max cool, The room went from 78 degrees to 74 degrees...and later on to 71 degrees. It was 99 degrees outside with 80% humidity. So far, this unit has been able to hold this room steady at 72 degrees even at a slightly cooler setting. I am happy with this considering it isn't what I intended to get. The unit itself at the vent on the coldest setting was blowing 61-62 degrees. The PROs: Price of $136 It runs pretty quiet - quieter than most floor fans. Easy installation. Cools beyond the stated capacity. The CONS: Fan Speeds. Low and High barely different. Not very strong. Some small "gaps" where the wings connect to the unit (not a result of trimming). Even with the flimsy foam seals provided there is a good pencil-sized (diameter) gap that could allow about any bug or spider in. I had to use clear caulking to fill these little holes you could see through. All-in-all it has performed within tolerable levels considering it was my only cost-worthy option. In a smaller room it should have no problems getting it icy-cold. Photo 1 - Installed unit. Photo 2 - This is the temp in the opposite corner of room from unit. Unit set on 6 of 7 on temp and on low fan speed.
Love it, so cool and perfect size for my bedroom. Installment kit included made things easy, did it all by myself!
Great smaller unit. Cools a much bigger area then stated. Easy setup, easy to operate. So glad that I went with the GE. I am 68 years old and I installed it by myself. My windows are so narrow that I couldn't use the sides, so had to do some modifying. I cut and used the corner cardboards from the packing and taped just the accordion pieces into place. No hot air is getting in. I have a 15' hallway that I put a fan in to help pull the cool air to the back of my apartment. So right now she is cooling a 180 sq ' livingroom, an 80 sq' kitchen and a 150 sq' bedroom and also a very long hall. It's been really humid besides temps in the 80's and 90's so I did remove the little plug for water drainage.
This is a nice little window unit I placed in my shop. Unfortunately, it sustained damage during shipping. A corner of the box had torn and had been taped up. The unit itself had a bent corner. Fortunately it did not affect its function. It cools quite nicely.
So far, so good. I have only had the air conditioner running for 24 hours, but it has nicely cooled down my bedroom and it's only set on medium. I have a larger air conditioner in the main living area of my home but in this very humid summer, it can't cool the house down enough to keep my bedroom on the other end of the house comfortable enough to sleep. I bought this smaller air conditioner just for my bedroom and I had it set on medium for the first night and it kept me very comfortable. I don't like to have my bedroom too cold and it was perfect on medium. I have this 5000 btu unit set on high cool, but the number dial was only 6 with numbers 1-10 as choices. The temperature was perfect for sleeping and not too cold. I rated it as a number four because it's not super quiet, but it makes a consistent noise to act as a blue noise to help you sleep and no unusual noises that wake you up. Overall, I'm pleased with this air conditioner.
Hi Placed order for window Ac. It was delivered today but its damaged. I need to know if u could reimburse me for it or should i just return it for another piece.
I ordered a total of two A/C , and one of them was damaged, while the other one was perfectly fine, how do I go about getting the damaged one replaced? I would really like some help
