I like the bright whiteness of the product and simplicity to use I like the heat sensor cups in the center of the electric burners. I don't think I would buy any other stove for the money. I love this one.
The size of the stove top burners also easy to pop out and clean. The oven door window is larger than my previous GE STOVE so I can see better the cookies baking. The oven temperature is easier to set. I do miss the broiler pan but kept the one from my previous stove. The door handle is much better When wearing pot holders as you can wear them when opening the door to get your hot items. It has an automatic turn on the oven setting that is nice for leaving in the morning and coming home to an already baked roast
I like my new range. It's quick to heat up, and my pizza was done quickly the other night. It's just nice to have a new appliance. The stainless steel drip plates under the burners is,a plus. The old range had enamel ones which over the more than twenty years we had the old range, became pitted, and had some rust through, thus defeating the reason for them to be there. So, far my new range is,a winner. The only thing is that the burners seem to cut back when heating a pan of water. Thus seems to be, perhaps some sort of safety feature. I've found that nit running the burners at the High setting alleviates some of this. Other than that minor issue my new range is just fine.
We got another one after 20 years. GE electric stoves are great. We replaced the switches about 5 years ago and the elements as needed about every seven to eight years. This one is almost the same but they don't make anymore identical.
Easily installed. We had a GE that was in our home when we bought the house. We loved that one that we wanted the same. Can't wait to use this one. It looks great.
I love my new GE range. The last oven I bought was 36 years ago. Also a GE. I hope to last this oven's lifetime. The first loaves of banana bread were lovely and we enjoyed looking through the glass door.
The Range top is hard to clean. No matter what I use it leaves a haze and streaks. I've tried paper thowels, microfiber cloths and wipes. We bought a noodle board to cover it up. Plus, there's a small metal round plate on the bottom of the burner that was not attached when the stove was installed. So that 8" burner doesn't get used since the wires are exposed.
I don't think they painted the top with the right paint or enough. This range top does not clean easily, it is really difficult. One burner broke within six months of purchase a second broke within a year or two. This is beyond a shadow of a doubt the worst range oven I have ever used, and that includes the crappy Hotpoint stove I had in a college rental my senior year 35 years ago. Very poor quality. If I were GE, I would be embarrassed to put my name on this range oven.
The stove/oven has multiple design flaws. I wish I had known before I bought it. Design flaw number one, the stove top itself is not insulated from the burners. So The stove top becomes so entirely hot that it cannot be touched anywhere without causing a severe burn. Design flaw number two, the elements. The elements have some sort of temperature control device that does not allow the burners to stay on. They turn themselves off intermittently even while you're cooking. It's almost impossible to boil a pot of water or sear a piece of meat. But then they will get so hot that they cause the stove top to get too hot to the touch. Design flaw number three, the oven door has vents along the top edge. If for any reason you can't get anything to boil, if it boils over it can dribble over the edge of the stove and onto the oven door. Then the liquid goes down through the vents and runs down the front of the door on the inside. To be able to clean that, the door has to be completely disassembled, which is dangerous, so that you can clean any spills that occur on the inside of the door. That design flaw alone requires a service call. Which is extremely expensive just to have the door disassembled, the glass cleaned, and then the door reassembled and attached back to the oven on the spring hinges. This stove/oven is more work than necessary.
Horrible design. Sales rep told me buttons in coil are pan stabilizers, it's not. Its suppose to stabilize heat distribution. Only certain types of pans work on range. NO round edge pans, ripples on bottom, pans smaller than coils will work. Doesn't maintain heat temperature. Non of my 15 pans work on this range. Unstable heat distribution. In NOT buying another $ 1000 in pans. GE owes me a new range or replacement of my pans. Never buying a GE product again.
