This drier is amazing, love the quick dry feature. It dries clothes really well in half the time, witch saves on energy costs and that is a plus always. It looks great and I am really loving all the settings and features, really quite, too. Love my GE!
I didn't realize how much a great dryer would impact my life. The clothes magically dry on time and come out wrinkle free looking so much better than ever. This dryer has amazing features that I never knew I needed or would utilize, i.e., a light inside the drum. This is the best dryer I have ever used or owned and I am no spring chicken ;)
I've had my new washer and dryer for a couple of weeks now, and I love them. I actually enjoy doing laundry now. I love so many things about the washer like the size of the tub, the microban door seal, the vent feature for drying the tub. The dryer is great, too. A big load of towels is fully dry within 30 minutes.
Love the dryer works wonderful and it's large cold comforters perfect If I had to change something, it would be the lint catcher. It's kind of a pain to use. You have to open it up like a book like in my old ones I can just pull it out and clean it and I gotta open it way up to clean it out but he give you get, still good product
Love the features on this dryer, its beyond quiet and you can see and feel the quality. We looked at several other brands and this one stood out to us and out needs. Its a great addition to our GE Kitchen appliances we did a year ago.
The GE GFD55ESSNWW is a robust and reliable electric dryer that combines efficiency with modern convenience. Boasting a spacious 7.8 cu. ft. capacity, it's ideal for handling large loads, making it perfect for families. The dryer features built-in Wi-Fi, allowing users to control and monitor cycles remotely via a smartphone app, which adds a layer of convenience for busy households. What sets this model apart is its sensor drying technology, which ensures clothes are dried to perfection by automatically adjusting the drying time based on moisture levels. Additionally, its steam function helps reduce wrinkles and refresh clothes, saving time on ironing. While it may not have the most advanced features compared to some premium models, the GE GFD55ESSNWW offers excellent value for its price, balancing performance, capacity, and smart features. It's a solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable and efficient dryer with a few modern touches.
Not as solid as the last model. Overall does a good job with the drying cycles, but too many issues with quality. This is our third dryer in this series in 2 years.
I love this dryer with one exception, the lint trap. OMG!!!! First, the plastic where the lint trap hinges is breaking, only after a few months. Next, as previously mentioned, lint sticks to every piece of plastic on the lint trap and is impossible to keep clean. I do use brushes to clean it all as well as washing it with soap and warm water. However, this is required way too frequently. Finally, the holes are too small to allow the lint to get into the trap. This allows lint to bypass the lint trap and collect/stick to the interior of the lint chute. The design of this lint trap is completely unacceptable and turns me off on the entire appliance.
Received this dryer yesterday. I did 4 loads between yesterday and today. Used different settings and clothes come out damp not fully dry. I give this machine two weeks before I call or return it. Maybe the dryer needs to be broken in.
Just bought a new dryer. You can't see it from the front, but when I looked inside I noticed a 1.5 inch hole that looked like it was cut into the top of the drum. It probably won't affect the drying function much, but I'm so disappointed that it's so poorly made. I'm going to have to get a new one replaced immediately. It's such a hassle.
