So far, I'm really am happy with this purchase. I had my previous set for fifteen years. The main thing that sold me on this product was the great reviews, specs, and size. I wanted My comforter to be able to fit instead of going to go to the laundry mat. Very happy with this purchase.
Great load capacity and drive very quickly. The steam feature is outstanding. My wife used to have to iron every morning before work, but not anymore.
The GE dryer with effortless drying excellence performance, and convenient features. It dries clothes quickly and thoroughly, even bulky items. With energy saving options and smart integration, it is a top choice for efficient and hassle-free laundry.
This dryer has a large capacity which is great for our family. There are many options for various drying cycles. Having the application on my phone is great to monitor the washer and dryer cycles.
My dryer works great overall. I like that it's electric and I was able to connect it to the waterline so it can steam clothes. A few things could be better; for example, when a I use the “Refresh” or “Derinkle” settings for steaming small or large loads. Refresh takes 20 minutes and Derinkle takes 25 minutes because the clothes are completely wet then dried; so technically, they aren't steamed. I wanted the steam option to save time on last minute ironing, but I can easily iron in less than 20 minutes. These steam options are not good for one or two items, they are the best for small and large loads as noted on the appliance. Also, quite often my dryer disconnects from Wi-Fi despite having a range extender in the next room. The WiFi signal is strong, but my Echo enabled devices have stopped announcing when the dryer is finished multiple times. When this option does work properly, I have it set not to announce after a certain time, which is helpful for family members that are resting.
This is a good basic dryer that I was assured could easily dry a king size comforter. This is only the case if you remove it every 15 to 20 minutes and flip it around for the next 2 to 3 hours. The medium temperature is much lower than my previous model, but that is OK— I prefer it that way. My only complaints thus far— the volume control (which has graduated sound settings) for the cycle end notification is not loud enough and when I have used the steam cycle, a weird residue is left in the drum. This was not the case with my Samsung steam dryer so I'm not sure what the deal is because it's the same hard water I've always had. The machine should have a filter to prevent this. I avoid using the steam function because I don't want to wipe the drum out every time I use it. No backflips but no other significant complaints either.
Seems to take too long to dry. Sometimes dries very poorly. I think it may be adding water through steam solenoid as I saw water in drum a few times below blue nozzle at top back of drier interior. Im guessing I will need a service call to fix
Why on earth would anyone design a dryer drum with loose metal clips on the inside? After running a first load of clothes in my new dryer, a pair of sweat pants came out with the drawstrings all twisted and coiled. I was perplexed because in the 11 years I owned a Samsung dryer, that never happened. I added towels from my second load and when I went to fold them, two towels were stuck to the front inside of the drum. After ripping the towels from underneath the clips, I realized the drawstring on the pants probably got caught on the clips and was grateful it wasn't a blouse caught in them. Two loads and this new washer/dryer set is going back, I've already ordered another Samsung. There were some nice things about this dryer (the filter is not one of them) but I won't mention any of them because the capacity to destroy clothes outweighs everything else.
This is the second GE dryer that we have bought. We sold our previous house, so we wanted to get the same dryer as we had been happy with our previous one. This Dryer has been faulty from the beginning. I thought initially that The settings might be slightly different, as our clothes never seemed completely dry with each load. As nothing was broke, there wasn't much I could do. After year and one month of use, our dryer started making a banging sound with each rotation. After opening up the dryer, we realize that the seam of the drum had started separating, and entire chunks of the drum were missing near the seam. We are a family of five, and the only items that have been inside of the dryer have been made of fabric. The product was obviously defective from the beginning, and unfortunately the limited warranty of one year had already expired. I am hoping that I am the only one that got a defective product, as I have been very satisfied with my GE products in the past. I felt a review was warranted in case I am not the only one having to buy a whole new dryer after one year.
This dryer does not dry well I have to run at least 2 hrs to dry simple loads. The steam function just wets the clothes. I bought because I loved the color. But never had a dryer that took so long to dry clothes.
