Works wayyyyyyy much better than I thought. Will buy another one and store it for years down the road before they go away. Using it for sun room.
My AC I'm using in the basement and it keeps it very cool. 300 sq ft. I love it and it's not as noisy as I've heard it's a great portable AC. I recommend it to anyone. I've own many in my lifetime this is the best.
This portable ac cools down our room quickly. We love the sleep function and the fan function as well. The only slight ding I give it is that if you have a humid day, you will have to drain the tank several times. It's not very easy to drain either as it doesn't come with any drainage hoses. Other than that, it's worked great!
I am using this as supplemental AC for my upstairs with 2 12x12 rooms in an open area. It is working great. The installation of the panel in my large casement windows was a little hard to understand. I wish the descriptive pictures would have been a little larger.
Wow, saw the same one in QVC, about 125 more than this one, bought the last one. Easy set up, and yes, you can leave the screen in the window. Really nice cold air shooting out....,the only complaint I have, its pretty loud. Oh well, earplugs or headset listening to my calm app. Worth the money, just used it for two days, so far so good.
Purchased to primarily remove moisture from the basement...amazing how much water it collects so quickly! Drain is convenient and doesn't require frequent emptying. Looking forward to the AC feature when the summer weather hits.
First of all, the "manual/instructions?" that's supplied/available for this item is useless. I actually discovered how to address the problem I was having with this product on "YouTube", and that was by pure accident! The company's website & telephone help were a waste of time also. The problem was: almost immediately after setting up the portable air-conditioner, it started to leak condensate[water] onto the floor. After I dried up the water from my 100 year-old white oak flooring, I had to go buy a large size 'Cat-Litter-Pan' to set the unit into, so the pan collected the water, and I could use a 'shop-vac' to 'transfer' the leaked water to a bathtub. The reason for the problem: there is not a way for a 'common consumer' to determine IF the unit is "PLUMB" and not leaning to one side or forward on the floor, which will cause it to 'leak water' from the unit instead of the water draining into the "tank" that has the drain fixture on the back of unit. The Fix for the problem: [my suggestion] if a vertical LINE was printed on one side & on the front, where consumer could put a small weight on a string, and attach it [with tape] at the top of the lines, it could be determined if unit was "PLUMB". Or, a 'circle' bubble level could be placed on the top of the unit. I was taught to not speak badly about someone's product, unless I could do better or a better idea. I was a US Navy engineer in the past [AC/R was one of my expertises]
Worked great for a week. The dehumidify part works great and cools but the drain plug bring at the bottom is ridiculously in convenient. There is now way to vent the tank with a hose as you gravity will now allow it to drain with the plug at the bottom. It now requires emptying the tank ever hour. According to the manual it shouldn't need emptying at all in Cool mode. Taking it back as soon as the LG unit comes in.
This unit is a disappointment to me. I've had it connected for less than 18 hours and I've had to drain it 5 times. My weather shows the humidity outside right now at 65% so not horribly high. There's no excuse for having to drain a "self evaporative unit" that often. I have another unit (a different brand) that I've ran in another space all year and have never once had to drain it. I purchased this AC to make sure to keep a cool space for my dogs because the heat has been unbearable lately and my central AC has been having issues. Now I'm afraid to even leave my house because I'm afraid it will fill up and kick off while I'm gone. The room it's in is less than 200 square feet. It cools the space decently .... but not wonderfully. I don't think it would keep a space any larger very cool. It's definitely not keeping it at the 70 degrees I have it set at. In the manual it says it's supposed to show the room temperature on the display, but it does not. It just shows what you have it set at. Just overall a disappointment. If it wasn't such a pain to try to carry it back to the store by myself I would return it. I could have purchased a unit with more BTU's and $100 cheaper if I wanted to drain it every couple of hours. I purposely spent more on a self evaporative unit so I wouldn't have to worry about my dogs staying cool while I was gone, so the fact that this one does not do that is infuriating.
HATE IT! IT WILL RUN FOR A DAY THEN SHOWS A CLEAN FILLTER. INSTRUCTIONS SAY CLEAN FILLRER BUT DOES NOT TELL HOW. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL WAYS TO CLEAN IT. THERE IS NO SUPPORT LINE TO CALL I HAVE A GE MICROWAVE FOR SIX MONTHS IT HAS WORKED VERY WELL.
