I couldn't be any more pleased with the ease of operation of this machine. It was realy value priced for the performance it gives. Cleans all my normal dishes perfectly and no technical knowledge needed to operate. No computer classes needed to figure out how to run it as with all the other machines I looked at and at a much lower cost than the more technologicly advanced ones with lit up buttons and so many functions to figure out . Im old school I guess and this is the machine for us old schoolers that like a well built machine that simply does the job and a great value for the pocket book.
We only had a 34" cabinet. This fits great. It is very simple to use, manual controls. We prerinse everything. We only use air dry. We do use hot water and the longest cycle. We use rinse aid and two detergent packs. Everything comes out sparkling, even with our very hard Texas water.
GE products have been used by my family for many years. Recently our GE dishwasher that has given us many years of service broke down, instead of having it repaired we took this opportunity to purchase a new GE dishwasher to enjoy. Contrary to a few reviews that claim that this model is noisy, we found that it runs so quietly that sometime I thought it has stopped. The price was very reasonable, easy to operate, and the look is great! It was a great decision for us to stick to the GE brand and we expect to have many years of service out of it just like the GE products that we had used in the past.
We just moved in to our new house and this has been an amazing addition.

Just purchased this dishwasher. We had one with all the bells and whistles but in the end we went for simple. Not to say that the cleaning power is not simple we are very happy with how clean the dishes are and look forward to many years with this
My problem is similar. It broke right outside of the warranty period. GE knows exactly what they are doing. My brother replaced the part that starts draining the water and it's out again. So I am dipping water out after every wash and rinse stage. Plus the knob only turns when it wants to. I have to watch it to prevent burning my dishes again. It gets stuck in random stages of the whole cycle. This is a terrible waste of money, time and energy.
I have had a lot of issues with this unit including draining and it is brand new but I have only been able to use it approximately 2-3 times.
The lower rack on this model is rusting after only a couple years. The coating was not sufficiently applied to cover the metal on the rack and it now deposits rust on our dishes. Went to my parents and I checked the 30 year old GE equivalent model that moved from my parents kitchen to the shed and it is still not rusting.
