We have been using the cooktop for roughly four months. Our previous home we had gas and were concerned with our new homes electric cooktop. We remodeled the kitchen and installed the induction cooktop. The top looks awesome with our granite counter. More importantly, its operation is very similar to gas in times to heat/cook. There is a slight "hum" while cooking from the induction process, we like it, it provides an audible coupled with the red visual indicators when the top is on. Love the feature that once the pan/pot is removed from the burner, the controls automatically power off the burner circuit. The product hit all three keys for us; the visual appeal, the efficient operation and the safety features.
I had an older GE cooktop with knobs that were mounted in the glass. It was very hard to keep clean. Now it's a breeze to clean up after cooking foods that splatter. That, coupled with the convenience of induction cooking makes this cooktop my favorite appliance.
Okay I replaced my 17yo ge smoothtop electric with a new php9030 I bought myself for Christmas. I knew induction was going to be faster, I have chef friends and know they use it. I didn't know how freaking fast it was though. Pot of water from tap to boiling in under half a minute. It is freaky fast, I really had to do it twice to let it sink in. Cooking is about to change. Love it!
This cook top is the greatest. I went with GE because of guaranteed fit and was pleased and relieved when the new cooktop slid right into the existing cutout. It's very, very easy to keep clean and there's no more cooked-on food and no need to use chemical cleaners. Just a damp cloth to remove any spills, then polish with a microfiber glass cloth. The heat response is very quick, both raising and lowering temperature, and a pot of water boils amazingly quickly. I also like the Melt feature and the Sync Burners feature. The Black Stainless is beautiful with the shiny silver/grey texture mixed with glossy black accents
I had not had a cooktop before and I have always cooked with/on a gas stove. I was hesitant about cooking with electric as I remember my parents having one of those old coil electric stoves where anything and everything that touched it got badly burned, including non food items. It was dangerous. I am very pleased with this cooktop, it is quick, efficient and very safe. The cooktop style and clean look adds an elegance to the kitchen Thank you
I used to always watch Doraemon when I was young and drool over their futuristic appliances. Then I visited my friend's kitchen and drooled over their luxurious stovetop. Dream no more because now I got my own, out-of-this-world stove and it's backed by physics, not cartoons! I absolutetly adore it, and the kitchen is now my favorite place in my home. I am amazed at the quality that GE offers and the brand will always have a special place in my gadget-and-food-loving heart. On a sidenote, my original cooktop cutout was too wide so I will be specially custom ordering an extra trim to support the new cooktop.
Love the sleek look of this cooktop. The induction feature cooks food incredibly fast. It does take some getting used to because the food heats up so quickly. The cooktop is easy to clean and pretty much is additional counter space when not in use.
The alternate installation kit WB01x24570 should be included in the original packaging. When you discover you need it, you have to wait for it to be shipped. Otherwise installation was easy.
We are highly satisfied with everything about our Profile Induction cooktop, except with how easily the glass scratches. We've used it less than a month, not every day, have been careful not to move cookware across the glass, and keep it covered when not in use; but it still has numerous scratches. At this rate, in 6 months, this will not be a cooktop I'll be proud to have on display in my kitchen. So dismaying, because it has performed perfectly in every other way. We've had other brand glass cooktops, and none have scratched so easily. For this reason, I would not recommend this cooktop.
I bought the induction cooktop a year ago 2016 and was great for a year until one of the burner stop working and a week later the big burner stop also so if you buy it take in cosideration that you will have a good cooktop for a year only after them be aware of the problems the you will acquire.
