I have waited 2 years to purchase my Opal; within 10 minutes I found myself questioning why it took me so long. The skepticism and uncertainty, all for not. The quality of this product makes it feel and function like an appliance and not something that will break a week after use. Congrats, GE! We love it!
So far this machine is top notch. We love nugget ice. The ice is fresh tasting, very soft. We followed the directions for set up, which is very easy. This machine started making ice right away. We purchased extra filters and cleaning solution to maintain the machine. All instructions are easy to read and understand. I will send further reviews as we use the machine. We intend to run the machine daily so it will get used a lot. Thank you for a wonderful product. We have gone through 3 prior machines from other makers, they didn't last more 3 months. This machine is quiet when running, makes ice fast. Perfect nuggets every time. Thanks Debra
I crunch ice. I literally seek out the places that have the “good ice”, will go miles out of my way for a gas station with the good ice. This machine has saved me! It makes the perfect cruchable ice! I adore this wonderful machine! (Allow me one bougie item, ok? 😂)
We love our Opal nugget ice machine! It's quiet and makes plenty of ice that is addictively crunchable! The support team is very responsive both via phone or email, should you have and questions or in need of a warranty repair or even a replacement. We highly recommend and would purchase this machine again!!!
This is by far my best ice machine this also is my third ice machine to date this machine is super reliable ice 🧊 has perfect texture and taste I'm proud to own this GE product . Great job
I'm an avid ice chewer and I LOVE my opal! We installed it the first day and I've set the timer on my phone through the GE app and it's super boujee!
Product is great, but my only qualm is the location of the water reservoir being under the ice compartment. The ice is awesome…..so I am going to limit my complaint as being my own personal issue! This said….four stars on paper….but five stars in use!
The ice is great, but the noise is unbelievable. If you're having a party and you want to turn it on, and then set it outside 20 yards away from the house so it doesn't drive you insane, it's great. But don't expect this to be in a game room or kitchen area where you have to listen to it all the time.
At first, I loved this icemaker, and of course the size of the ice unfortunately less than a year ice maker has this annoying constant squealing nonstop sound. Could not return for a refund! Definitely not worth the money.
The ice machine never works. It sounds like the gears are grinding when it's been on for more than an hour. I am always turning it off and unplugging it. I have to wait hours and sometimes days to get it to make ice.
