Gel Blaster Starfire Gellets are small, water based self absorbing balls or water beads that glow in the dark. Starfire Gellets, when fully hydrated, reach the ideal size of 7.5mm which is perfect for enjoying night time gameplay with official Gel Blaster Starfire products. Gel Blaster Starfire Gellets disintegrate on impact and the glowing particles begin to dehydrate leaving no mess, no cleanup, and no worries! The Starfire Blaster (or Starfire Activator acessory) is necessary to fully charge your gellets for extreme night time play, giving you a glowing tracer effect. Gel Blaster Starfire Gellets are a specialized formulation and must be soaked in water for at least 4 hours to fully expand in size. You will need half a gallon of water to fully hydrate a single 5,000 pack of glow in the dark Starfire Gellets. Failing to completely hydrate the Starfire Gellets may cause your Gel Blaster to function poorly. Gel Blaster Gellets expand 10x their size so make sure you use a big enough container. A one gallon bucket works great for hydrating a 5,000 Gellet pack. This review is for the Gel Blaster StarFire Glow in the Dark Gellets Ammo Refill pack. It Includes 10,000 water based beads that are capable of glowing in the dark if you use them with any Starfire blaster. I believe the Starfire line has the attachment that can charge these gellets to glow. The attachment is battery operated with 2 AA batteries, but the blaster can shoot these gellets without the batteries. They just won't glow if you don't put batteries in. You need to add water to these as they are very tiny before they are hydrated and swell to the proper size. To do this you simply put 1 pack of 5000 water beads in a half gallon of water (or 1 gallon for 10,000 beads) for about 3 hours. There will still be a little water left over, but the beads will soak up the water and swell to about 7.5 mm in size. I included a photo next to a quarter coin for before and after size comparison. These water based beads are 100% biodegradable, non toxic and are made with starch and water so they are very eco friendly. There is essentially no clean up as they begin to desinigrate upon impact. Great product. I give them 5 stars.
These are awesome and this blaster is so much fun! They glow in the dark even when it's not super dark which makes playing at dusk really awesome! They need to be soaked for about 2 hours then they are ready to use. They are firm enough and don't break on impact like others.
Wow! All I have to say is where were these toys when I was a kid? I use the term "toy" loosely though. The box says 9+ and I would strongly adhere to that advice. It is like firing real tracer bullets and these little things can sting. You definitely want some eye protection and I would recommend getting a better pair then what comes with this. Safely used though this gun is fun to just fire in the air or at someone else. Read the instructions carefully as there are many aspects to this gun and how to use it properly. It comes with training pellets and glow-in-the-dark pellets but I would recommend buying some extra pellets when purchasing the gun because you will use them up quickly. The pellets explode on impact and leave a little watery residue that is supposed to dissipate over time but I would still not use them in my house. I would say this is a strictly outdoor toy. This gun is a tribute to innovation and I would highly recommend it. It will make a great Christmas gift!
This Gel Blaster refill arrived just in time as ammo gellets from the initial set already ran out. These are glow-in-the-dark gellets for nighttime play that give it an extra element of fun. This pack supposedly has 10,000 gellets. I'll take their word for it as I don't have time to count them all to make sure. There are two packets with tiny starch beads that need to be hydrated so they expand to the right size for the blaster. If doing the whole lot, it needs a one gallon bucket, and soak or submerge the gellets in water for about 4 hours. If using half, then it will need a half gallon bucket and soaked for at least 2 hours or more until it has expanded fully. There are other gellet colors to choose from, but this is the glow-in-the-dark refill which is cool. Overall, this refill batch of gellets will be needed if you have a Gel Blaster to continue the fun.
Hydration. I highly underestimated how much water I would need to grow these. My advice is to start with a lot of water and just drain the excess that way the absorbsion doesn’t stall out when you are unaware you need to add more water. That being said, I think my mistake caused the growth to stunt a tiny bit. When compared to the original gels that come with the gun. The glow. I tested sitting them out in sunlight for a few hours and sitting them under a lamp for a while with similar results. Neither results are long lasting. Maybe an hour tops for a good glow then very faint by two hours nearly gone. The glow even affects the water, if you have excess water you can drain it and light it and the water will glow pretty cool too! The shot. Even when using single shot mode, these wanted to come out in pairs regularly which highly impacted aim accuracy.
You get 10,000 its alot and they last us awhile while we play. These glow in the dark gellets are so cool and no mess. Easy to load into the compartment. You just have to get them ready which is easy. You put into a half gallon bucket container and fill with water and they soak up the water in about 2 hours. Then just strain the water and your ready to load into compartment of the gel blaster. So much fun I honestly have a blast the whole family.
My family has had SO much fun with the Starfire Blaster and Gellets! Th Blaster loads and shoots well and is very sturdy. The Gellets are a great size and disintegrate on impact soI don't worry about birds trying to eat them. The glow in the dark works really well. They charge quickly and glow for a long time. I'll be shopping for for more so that there are plenty for family play.
These Gellets work so great with the Gel Blaster, it took about two hours to hydrate the Gellets, and they charge so quickly with the LED light from the Gel Blaster. My kids had a blast with this toy. On the glow in the dark photo I literally took it outside for less than a minute to take the first photo and that's how quick and bright they charged. They are pretty soft and shatter once they hit something but I would not recommend kids aim at each other they are a bit painful. We just use targets to have fun.
This is one of the best gel blaster guns I have seen so far. My 8-year-old grandson absolutely loves it and had a blast using it. Has a very high velocity and shoots out these water based gel pellets at a really far length. I suppose some could say the pellets sting a little when hit at close range, so I advise not to aim at anyone's face. I got hit with some of the gellets and it didn't hurt me though, so I figured it should be safe for a little older kids. Super easy to put together and has a loading tube to load up the gellets. Although the little pellets are filled with water and eco-friendly, they do leave behind a mess of little pieces of gel, so you should use outside.
Gellets. Glow in the dark. 10,000. Use half of them. Easy to follow instructions on the back. You hydrate them with water. Then you strain them out of the water after they're full and then you shoot them. Easy to use they fit in the toy gun that goes with them blaster. Lots of fun. Pretty good time easy to use the package is relatively small to store which is why they plump up in the water. It does take 2 hours for them to completely hydrate so you want to make sure that you plan your playtime accordingly.
