This is a great little remote garage door open that is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse or even on your key chain. The light is handy and the single AAA battery is easy to replace. Set up in seconds with intellicode. Great product.
When I got a new van that did not have HomeLink, I realized I had thrown out my old remote control for the garage door! Thank goodness Genie sells these little remotes online. This one was super-easy to program (took about 2 minutes) and works perfectly every time. It fits nicely into the little cup-holder in my driver's side door.
This little remote has been a pleasant surprise for the price. We bought our house about six years ago. It had two Genie garage door openers, each with its own remote. One did not work (even after changing the battery. When the battery holder broke on the working one, I went to the web site to see if I could get a replacement. This one was the least expensive, so I thought I would try it. It worked on the door we use the most. I thought I would give it a try on the opener that did not have a working remote. It works there also. The built in flashlight is a nice bonus.
I dreaded the thought of having to buy another remote, but got excited when I saw the remote with a lariat and flashlight. The price was fantastic! I found my remote a day after they arrived; glad I didn't find it before seeing these cuties. I had no idea there was a change. Mine were 20 years old. smile + thank you
Brilliant. The lanyard could seem strange to some but in our yard with our activities it is welcome. The transmitter seems more powerful than the old Genie remotes. It works perfectly. It may be due to the much appreciated use of a standard AAA battery as opposed to the less common battery specs previously used in remotes. Also of note the battery door has a small screw which means it stays shut but also does not break like the old remote plastic tension doors that are hard to pop open and then would never stay shut again. Plus we always have a AAA battery around rather than a weird A25 or whatever. The light is used but it would be the best remote anyway. This one is just well thought out and performs well. I am glad it was produced.
This little remote was inexpensive. We had tried a universal remote with not much luck. Since our opener was a Genie, I thought we'd give it a try. It is as advertised. It's convenient and small and was incredibly easy to program for someone who is not very techy. I highly recommend if you need a second opener or you've lost or damaged your original.
It works but is so sensitive that it engages when I accidentally barely touch the button. It scared the Living daylights out of me when I was walking out of the garage and I simultaneously put it in my pocket and bang the garage door was closing down on me!
It would be preferable to have the switch wiring configuration in series so it would be necessary to depress both buttons together to signal the opener. This would help against accidental inadvertent triggering brought on by a bump or toss. Making the requirement of two buttons to be pressed simultaneously is a more deliberate intention and could be a better security feature to help assure the homeowner that command is valid.
Works well enough, but the buttons are very sensitive. If it's in your pocket, it is easy to accidentally open or close the garage. My remote works in the house for a detached garage and I don't always realize I've hit it.
We were unable to use this remote. I compared our original remote with the ones on the web page and though I was getting the right one. I though our opener was made after 1995 because our owner's manual was from 1996 but when we went to program the opener we only have a light bulb button on the left side of our panel not a program button. Therefore we where unable to program the remote. Is there anything we can do to make this remote work for our door? Love the small size and the flashlight.
