i bought these to use as cloth diapers and when i first got them home i was skeptical, but after i washed them they work pretty well- they are more absorbent they i ever hoped. we use them with a diaper cover and have yet to have a single leak.
Pros: Easy To Clean, Durable, Easy To Use, Compact, Safe For Baby Best Uses: Infants Describe Yourself: First Time Parent, Parent of Multiples Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I read all the comments about these diapers, and I am amazed at how many people have complaints about their quality as a diaper. I have triplets, and my husband and I are using these for our diapering. The Chinese and Indian prefolds are significantly more costly and with the amount of diapers we need for triplets it would be overwhelming to consider buying them; however, that being said, we used a diaper service for the first three months of our babies being home from the hospital. Of course they provided DSQ (diaper service "quality") Chinese prefolds. Immediately after we switched over to these my husband asked what I thought. We both agreed that while these become soaked SO DID THE CHINESE PREFOLDS! I don't know whose babies do not soak any cloth diapers, but our babies go through both types of cloth diapers with every feeding. Maybe some people are not wanting to change as frequently as cloth diapers require, but coupled with plastic/vinyl overpants these work great for us. We change our babies every three to four hours, and we have no leaking and no diaper rash issues. At night we use a home-made insert as a doubler, and my understanding is that any cloth diapers require this at night. My babies make it through the entire night without leaking and no diaper changes until morning. As one other person mentioned, I did pre-wash these diapers the typical recommended five to ten washes to prepare them for use. I also launder them on two cycles every two days, and I don't have any of the pilling or rough problems others have described. As an economical choice I think these diapers are functional as diapers, and as far as I can see they are not less useful that the DSQ diapers we used. We will continue to use these and purchase more as they wear, but for half the price or less than Chinese or Indian prefolds these are perfect for our triplet household. :) My husband and I were both cloth diaper babies, and I KNOW my mother did not buy Chinese or Indian prefolds to use. I was in this type of diaper until I potty-trained super early, and I never had diaper rash so I feel positive about this product.
These cloth diapers have changed slightly over the years from my first baby until now, but they are still great. I mainly use them as burp cloths and prefer them tremendously over the "fancy" burp cloths that are out there. Of course, after only the first washing they are still somewhat stiff and they are putting off quite a bit of lint, but they get better and better with each washing.
These are very nice for a cool cover up for your little baby in the warm weather, as well as for diapers. I used them for my children. The reason why I purchased these is for personal products for me. I definitely consider these cotton diapers superior instead of paper personal products. If you are going green or saving money these are ideal. Just fold them to proper thickness, wear and wash. It helps to soak in the wash with peroxide first before washing soiled cloths in soap & borax. Great product. Works beautifully.
I love flat diapers because they don't stain, they wash out completely and dry quickly. These are actually my favorite diaper because I hate stains, I do use these as diapers for my 18 month old. Please make sure you understand what you are buying that a flat diaper is not the same as prefold. A prefold is several layers thick and smaller in shape than a flat which is only a single layer and very large. You need to fold a flat to use it as a diaper or a burp cloth also be aware that after washing that they will shrink a little as they are 100% cotton. Flat diapers are also very versatile and can be used for several other household uses or even in the garage or shop.
The directions could be clearer. I had to learn how to care for these online. Wash a couple times before use -- I didn't use detergent, just hot water. And never use liquid fabric softener. Then the cloth crinkles up and is quite thirsty.
I do like these, but I would probably get a pre-folded diaper. These are very thin and cannot hold much. I bought the vinyl liners off e-bay because I could not find them anywhere else and I also purchased the cloth liners that go with the kushies diapers and use them with these cloth diapers and it seemed to help.
These are too thin and shrink too small to be used as diapers.... they are ok for stuffing pocket diapers but as flats they just dont work....will probably end up being dust cloths
I bought these knewing they may be bad, but I never expected completley worthless! Out of the package they are see-through and washed up they are still see-through. They are gauzey, thin, and small and I won't even use them as diaper doublers, as I planned to do. They will be used as cheesecloth in my kitchen, but they really deserve to be thrown away! Save your money and buy the real thing from online diapering stores!
Material was ridiculously thin. I was planning on using these diapers as burp cloths, but they were so thin there was no way I would have been able too. I cannot image using this product as an actual diaper. It would be like wrapping my baby's bottom with a paper napkin.
