I am a home remodeler by trade and I cannot say enough good things about this paint. I do quite a bit of painting through out the year. This paint is the closest to a "1 coat" paint I have ever used. The coverage is amazing and I feel spoiled every time I get to use it, indoor and exterior. Ignore all the 1 star reviews (just mix your paint when you open the can people) and buy with confidence.
I wanted to paint the front of my house which had white aluminum siding that is very old. I started with the shutters which were gray. I picked up this paint for the shutters and planned to get a more expensive paint for the aluminum siding. The aluminum siding is white and the paint was very chalky. Some places were even bare metal. I hadn't even pressure washed it yet. I accidentally got some of this gray paint on the white. I couldn't get it off of the chalky aluminum even though it had only been on there an hour. I even used a very strong cleaner called totally awesome cleaner and it wouldn't budge. I decided I would go back and buy a gallon of white to use on the aluminum. I pressure washed the old white aluminum. Then I sprayed it with this 2n1 paint (diluting it just a bit) and it covered perfectly. I think a lot of the negative reviews are probably from people who work for other paint companies who want to charge you $45 per gallon (ridiculous). I would buy it again!
Years ago Glidden Endurance Exterior paint was rated number by a consumer group and by some contractors on the net. I tried to find it around my area but could not. I never dreamed it would be sold at Walmart. I am a professional painting contractor and would rate the white satin High Endurance Plus the best hiding exterior satin I ever used. There are other brands that hide pretty much as well but they cost over $50.00 and do not brush out as well. I have been waiting 4 or 5 years to try this paint. I can't believe a dept. store has this high quality paint. Believe me I won't laugh anymore when someone tells me they got their paint at Walmart.
This paint is great! Last I painted I used 2 gallons of Valspar. used about 3/4 of a gallon with Glidden. One coat coverage of lighter color over some very dark red paint in less time. Love my new color!
Went on very easy and covered well. Its only been a week so cant say anything about how well it holds up.
This is a great paint. I wish it came in quarts. The hot sun likes to dry it fast! That is good if it's going to rain soon and to paint the other side of work!
I was not to sure about paint with primer in it. I purchased the glidden endurance plus, and am painting over bare wood. Looks good to me. I'm definetly happy with this product. I've used one gallon so far, and will be buying more. It took two coats, and that was over bare wood. If it last as long as the last glidden paint job did, which was thirtten years ago. I will be thrilled. No complaints. It went on easy, and covered well.
The price was right, but I had to do a 3rd coat because I painted over dark trim. The paint "flowed" well..... Very few brush marks.
Goes on well, coverage is OK. Remains 'tacky' to touch, does not dry a hard finish, and scratches easily. I used semi-gloss, flat or satin might be more satisfactory.
I BOUGHT THIS THINKING IT WAS A PREMIUM PAINT PRODUCT BUT EVEN THOUGH IT'S SUPPOSED TO HAVE A PRIMER IN THE PAINT. I USED IT TO PAINT THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE,CHANGING COLORS FROM AN ALMOND TO WHITE AND MAYBE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM,..I DON'T KNOW..BUT I'VE HAD TO USE 2 COATS OF PAINT AND IN SOME AREAS 3 WHICH WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. I WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED IN THE NAME "GLIDDEN". THE SATIN FINISH WAS THE ONLY THING THAT LOOKED NICE
