I always thought my babies would only need breast milk, but I had to start my second baby on formula when I found out I needed radiation therapy for thyroid cancer. I asked our pediatrician what formula he recommends and he said Similac Advance, and told me all of the pros and cons to almost all of the formula on the market. My BG had no problem switching from breast milk to the formula, and she's thriving very well!
My son just turned one. He plays with his food more than he eats it and gets distracted easily and wont continue to eat. So we like the Go & Grow, because I'm scared he isn't getting enough and I definitely don't want any deficiencies in his diet. One question I do have with this formula is how often they can actually drink it without it being over kill? What is the recommended amount a day for a child also toying with table food. We also do whole milk with meals, and juice cut with water as a wash down with food. I don't want to over saturate his diet with formula, but have it be more of a compliment to his diet. Any advice any one has would be nice.
My 13 month has suddenly stopped eating (he still eats of course but is stubborn about it) and he needed a little extra help. His pediatrician recommended the Go and Grow toddler drink to make up for what he's missing out on at meal time. I saw in a lot of the reviews that people didn't understand how to measure the powder/water ratio. If I could attach a picture I would. The can says 1/3 cup to 8oz of water, but it also says 1/3 cup = 4 scoops. So that comes out to 1 scoop per 2oz of water, just like with infant formula. It's a great product. I never thought we'd need it, but we do and it's a great help!
We started out with the newborn formula and he did so well, to the point that everyone would always say “ u can tell that is one breast feed baby” I would smile and just keep walking because I knew that my son only had 2 days work of breast milk and the rest was similar formula. Once he turn 13 months I realize that it was time to transition to regular milk but that did not go so well. So we looked up other similar products and realized that they had a toddler drink ( thank God) so we move from baby formula into grow and go and it has done wonders for him ... now we often get “ he is so chunky and healthy” makes me feel like I have done something well, he loves his milk so much that he drinks 4 bottles and he is only 16 months yet docs say he is one healthy baby. Thanks similac for making one amazing product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My daughter loves this formula. I feel it gives her what she needs. She is in the 95th percentile for height and 100th for weight. She is a solid baby.
My toddler loves this! I try to give my toddler the best foods that I can, but sometimes she is picky and doesn't eat what she should be eating, so I supplement with "milk". She loves her "milk," and I feel good knowing that she is still getting vital nutrients in her everyday diet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My son loves this and it saved us the heartache thinking our son wasn't getting his nutritional value when he wouldn't eat. He still doesn't at 20 months. He hates the texture of food and he gags alot. This product saved us. We also bought the go and grow baby food additive. Now I KNOW for sure my son is getting all of his nutrients. Thank you similac!!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My daughter loves this milk. But i was trying to find out, if a prepared go & grow formula can be stored in a refrigerator for 24 hrs like any other formulas? It's easier for me to prepare my daughters milk for the day and keep it in the fridge coz she loves cold milk. Thanks so much
I love similac products. it is a very great brand. But for this product, the instruction is not clear. it shows 1/3 cup powder with 8OZ water. I am not sure the 1/3 cup is for the spoon in the powder or 1/3 cup of the normal size(43g). It really confused me. how does this calculate. Thank you. We tried this formula first when my toddler became too old for Similac Alimentum, but it was just too rough on him as was cows milk. It caused constipation. This would most likely work for kids that are OK with drinking cows milk already, but not my son. We switched to the sensitive version and he does a lot better, but this is what most stores carry. My suggestion is that if your baby needed a sensitive type formula that you go straight to the sensitive toddler formula as well and skip over this. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
