The GoFit Padded Pro Ankle Weights are ideal for rehab and improving lower body strength. Ankle weights are one of the best ways in which to add resistance to your lower body training, by targeting certain muscle groups. The leg and hip joint are like a lever and fulcrum. With the hip being the fulcrum, the farther away the weight, the harder it is to lift and balance. The same can be said for the knee joint as well. By adding a minimum amount of weight, the leg muscles must exert considerable effort to lift and balance the weights, which provides maximum results.
Padded ‘soft-touch’ interior provides superior comfort. • Weight-Bar-Pockets made of heavy canvas with durable rubber-capped Velcro closures. • Secure nylon strap with Velcro closure. • Heavy-duty edge trim. Available Weights: • 5 LB Pair (2.5lbs each/ 5lb pair) • 10 LB Pair (5lbs each/ 10lb pair) Includes: One Pair Padded Pro Ankle Weights

Bought a couple of different brands and these worked perfectly for my physical therapy after knee surgery. All the other were too large for a woman. These have metal bars instead of sand so are less bulky
I'm glad I bought this padded 10-pound set instead of the cheaper set GoFit offers, and so far, they're heavy enough. I definitely don't regret my purchase. Problem is, where do I find heavier inserts to replace these half-pound ones currently in it once I can move up in weight? I've tried those straps to attach a dumbbell to my ankle, and it wasn't very comfy. Could anyone point me at some replacement inserts?
As I began self isolation, I was concerned about the reduction in my daily activity. I have a full weight set to keep up with regular muscle work, but my aerobic exercise has been greatly reduced. I bought these weights to give my body extra work as I walk around my apartment. I also do a set of leg work most days before I remove them. They are very well made - as pictured. To wear for long periods of time, wear a second pair of socks and roll them down to create a roll to cushion the bottom of the weight.
Comfortable, easy to take on and off, no sliding around on my ankles. I love the adjustable weight as it gives me the opportunity to increase slowly as I build more strength. Good product!
I should have gotten the 5 lb x2 set, but regardless, they add plenty of resistance to any workout and are comfortable enough to wear throughout the day. I like that you can easily remove the weights to adjust to the perfect amount of resistance. I also REALLY like that the weights are metal as opposed to sand filled ankle weights which have a tendency to leak over time.
I have large calves (I used to play football), so finding things like ankle weights that fit properly is usually a challenge. The straps on these are more than large enough to have plenty of velcro sticking and hold them in place. The padding makes them very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time...but they do get a little sweaty sometimes.I highly recommend these ankle weights, especially for others like me who have larger legs and calves.
My wife just had knee replacement surgery and these were the ankle weights recommended by the physical therapist. She took most of the weight out to begin with and then slowly added weight back as her legs got stronger. She is very happy with these weights.
I purchased these for my 90 year old mother. They are perfect. They fit comfortably around her ankles and I love that you can add or subtract weights in 1/2 pound increments, depending on the exercise.I did not think the description of this item was clear. I recall being a bit confused. Each ankle strap holds 10 1/2 pound weights, making each ankle strap anywhere from .5 to 5 pounds.
These are good weights to use to build leg and abdominal strength while doing leg raises and other physical therapy-type exercises. I only have two suggestions for improvements. (1) The tab on the very end of the Velcro strap should be bright orange or lime green so that it can easily be seen when removing the weights. As it is now, it is all black on black and it's hard to find the end when it is behind your calf. And, (2) it is VERY difficult to get the metal bars in and out of the little pouches. If it were easier, I would change the weight of the assembly more often. As it is now, I just leave it with 3 1/2 lbs, total, for weeks on end before adding more weight. In fact, I had to buy a second set for my wrists (lighter weight) because it's impractical to change the weights on these within every workout.
Strap broke within one week.
