The only thing that didn't meet my expectation which was really not part of the bike but the accessory; the heart and speed "computer". I still don't know how to work it, and i thought it would be more like a real computer, easier to make function, but haven't figured out how. I use my watch, which measures my heart, calories etc. Also the obvious thing of the height, I am 5'3 and it is kind of uncomfortable to work out well, it is made for taller people, but you can make it to your own height. But the bike itself, is really really great, you can definitely get a good work out of it. You can add more than enough weight to make it difficult, as if going uphill. I recommend it.
This bike was easy to assemble with help. The Easy-to-read LCD window was not working but my roommate figured it out. On the let side of the pedal there is an opening just look for a round with magnetic piece, carefully use a screw driver and push it almost to the top it should read the LCD. Other than that, it makes a low noise and for the handle bars rocking my roommate used a Popsicle stick to make it tighter and that stopped the problem. The bike is not for a short person, I'm 5 ‘7 and it works great. Did 12.25 miles in one hour this Christmas morning, not bad for a beginner was able to eat without any guilt. :D <3
Just right for the space I have and the feel reminds me that I am on the road when keeping the same cadence. Put a computer or TV in front you and peddle away. Easy to set-up. I especially like the bottle holder and the digital display (if only it could illuminate, kind of hard to see). The design, look and engineering works for me.
Great buy on the Cycle Trainer 310. Could not find a better price anywhere for bikes comparable to this one. Heavy duty frame and large size makes this the perfect bike for me. This bike was easy to put together and adjusting the seat or handlebars is fairly easy. Love exercising on this equipment while watching t.v. or listening to music because it is very quiet while you use it. Smooth ride and I feel like I'm actually riding a road bike. Love it.
This exercise bike suits my needs perfectly. I consider it a great value for the money. There was, however, an issue with one of the parts being bent (might have happened during shipping?), but it was able to be corrected. No complaints, no problems with the bike itself.
Works great! I accidentally threw away the instructions for the calorie/time tracker & its been difficult to figure out.
Gold's Gym should know when shipping a bike with a 40lbs wheel cheap cardboard and cheap foam won't cut it. The bike came with its' base bent, the chain came off the bike within 20seconds, there are no directions on chain-cover removal...so good luck! The seat is painful, really painful, and as everyone said, if you're short look elsewhere. Bike seems to be durable, if it survives shipping!
Received the machine, installation was easy. Previous reviews were accurate about the need for modification for average height individuals. Metal quality is soft and bends easily during assembly. The durability of the product gets better once all the parts come together. The metal is soft but will do ok for our family of four which use this bike and I'm the heaviest at 164LBS. The weight durability stated for this product is overrated in my opinion and will be troublesome for heavier individuals. The handlebars are adjustable in the up and down position, however they do no rotate. Handlebars assembly and seat assembly wobbles sideways even after you tighten the knobs. They have used plastic "lasagna sheets" to stabilize the sideways movement which collapsed during assembly and fell out of place, had to use superglue to fit in place. Bottom line, at $229.00, I would put the extra $70 to $100 to buy a better quality cycle versus dealing with all the modifications and fixes.
There were several things wrong with this bike. The computer did not function. Read 0.0 at all speeds. Verified the connection, used fresh batteries, read the 1-page user guide... nothing helped. Suspected problem was within the portion of the bike that comes pre-assembled. The detailing was made of cheap stickers peeling off from the start as opposed to actual paint that I saw just yesterday on the one on display at the store. The bike had a mystery sound. It should be very very quiet and not rattle. It could be that the chain needed adjusting, but again, this was within the part that is pre-assembled. It has sort of a plastic fairing over that area which you can see in the stock photos. The nylon webbing which goes through the foot pedal around the foot frayed after 3 1-hour uses. It would surely break through. And yeah, I could replace that with a shoelace - why should I have to? I've used spin bikes before, other brands, and really wished I had been able to test ride this one first. I realize the ones at my gym cost approx. $1400 and this one being $267.00 is like comparing apples to oranges. It wasn't worth $267.00, and that's what my review is based on. I'm 5'8" and don't recommend it for anyone taller. Hope this helps. Good luck.
You get what you pay for. I'm short 5feet 2inches and I can't peddle because I'm too short! My honey will have to cut a piece in order for the seat to get shorter.. I was not happy w the over all item..but it will do since I can't spend thousands of dollars now.
