This stuff really works! My daughter decided that she wanted to paint with some acrylic paint and took it in her room and next thing I know paint was everywhere! I tried various products to remove the paint and nothing helped. When I received this Goof Off I decided to try it and to my surprise it’s the only thing that has worked so far. I don’t really care for the smell too much, but other than that it works pretty good!
This is probably the best and most complete removal chemical on the market. I have used it to remove - latex paint, dried spray paint, dried oil paint, crayon marks, permanent marker, and all types and manner of adhesives from scotch tape to gorilla glue. The only thing I've found that it won't remove is fully cured automotive paint (thank goodness). Smells awful, so you know it works! Just be careful when using it on plastic, as sometime it will start to melt the plastic as well.
Goof Off is a must have in any household/workshop. I always have Goof Off at home as well as at work. I work at an apartment complex and have removed everything from label residue to black sharpie from walls using Goof Off. I've also used it to remove tough stains on carpet. It's never faded the carpet!! It's also removed dried paint from my work shorts. Goof Off has never let me down, my home/workshop will never be without it.
Had an old bumper sticker to remove, that wouldn't come off on it's own, so got some Goof Off to try on it. I knew of Goof Off from many friends that over the years had made positive mention of it. I found the directions on the can difficult to read, because the font is so tiny, but fortunately it's pretty much a basic apply and rub operation. I found that the remnants of the bumper sticker came off with just some rubbing and left no trace of it behind, nor any staining from the chemical. In the 'after' image below you will note a darker square, that has nothing to do with the review of this product. It is just a natural result of paint fade from a smaller sticker that had been on the bumper for many years prior to the larger sticker being placed over it. Works great!
This stuff works! Whatever you need removed... paint, grime, tar, whatever.. it'll take it off. Be careful though its strong and will take off clear coat from cars and paint off walls! Use in all ventilated place or you'll be buzzing..
I had some stubborn stickiness from duct tape stuck on a piece of metal. This wiped it off easily! One swipe and it was gone. I think this will be my go-to gunk remover whenever I need it. I highly recommend this cleaner!
I was painting the house and needed some paint remover and thought this would do a perfect job on the exterior of my home. It worked fast, It did exactly what I needed done. I’ve also used it for several adhesive is in the house with that ticky-tacky type feeling after you remove adhesive and it just wipes right off of that too.
Goof Off is a great product. I ordered the 20 oz container. They sent the 16 oz container. It's not worth the price to drive to Walmart to see if they have the correct product. Walmart wins...customer loses. What else is new. So much for saving money
it removes the paint easily, but it's not safe on all surfaces. i used on the plastic, it removed all the paint, but the surface i applied the solution, looked different than the original color.
BE VERY CAREFUL.. this stuff is basically a turpentine/ paint stripper/ fingernail polish remover.. i had some brown stain that i got on aluminum siding and it ate the paint right off the aluminum siding after just a few seconds this is powerful stuff and i have no doubt will take anything I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TRY USING IT IN A VERY SMALL SPOT USING A SIMPLE Q_TIP.. just a tiny sample area it's hard to rate this product because it could go 1 of 2 different ways i gave it a 3 because i thought it was too strong a product and the product should have given you much better warnings about it's stripping pains and stripping other surfaces if you want something that will remove whatever you want and you are not worried about damaging anything underneath then it gets a 5 i gave it a 3 because i believe if people are looking for an honest review they might notice the 3 and read this and save them a lot of work ------ i took a 45 minute break after writing the above review because i was myself curious on what it would do to different surfaces here are some of the results i had going around and trying different surfaces items i had around my house and yard i touched everything i could find that had paint on it and it ate the paint right off i touched a bunch of plastic and fiberglass products and it basically ate the color right off i touched wood that was outside that was painted and stained and it removed both i actually took a q tip and touched a stop sign and it ate the paint off the stop sign i had some areas with adhesive on the back and it took me adhesive off but it also affected the surface underneath it i had a decorator glass cup that i tried touching and it took the pains or whatever right off i tried to take magic marker and pen marks off every kind of surface including concrete and actually and affected every surface i tried to take off except the concrete--actually it made the concrete area a little brighter white just be careful because this is basically a turpentine or paint stripper or fingernail polish remover or whatever product that is in that same category.. i would recommend this product if you are basically stripping something down to nothing and then repainting or staining it i do not think i would ever use this product again unless it was on something that i am going to completely strip down to the bare minimum.. i watched a number of videos on this product and people using it and i did not see anyone showing things where it was taking paint and color off things.. i'm surprised there were not more warnings about this on the videos my advice is do not let it set up too long when you do a sample area BE CAREFUL
