It is the most advanced smoke alarm.carbon monoxide detector on the market. Sad they are discontinuing this model.

This purchase had a misleading sticker and is unfortunately going back. These Carbon Monoxide detectors have a 10 year life (enforced by Google) from the build date stamped on the bottom of the unit. I ordered this item April 2025 and received a factory sealed item with a sticker that said October 2024 - not perfect but not bad for a discontinued unit. I would have kept an "Oct 24" build date CO detector. Unfortunately, when I opened the unit, the build date stamped on the bottom was actually October 2018 - meaning this full priced CO detector has only ~30% lifespan remaining. Naturally, this item is going back to Walmart.

Discovered upon opening package that the manufacture date was 2021 and the unit would autoatically disable itself after 10 years (only 6 years from now). Definitely should not have paid nearly as much given that the unit would shut down after only 60% of it's life.

They sent me a 10 year old model that has an expiration date in 3 months. Very disappointed. Make sure to look at the expiration date before trying to install (they have a 10 year life).

Changed out my old sensor for a new one purchased on line. Upon receipt of the “new” nest protect the manufactures date was 2017 expiring in 2027. Yes, they are suppose to have a 10 year lifetime. Looks like I get a two year expiration since it is March 2025 expiring in 2027. C'mon how unethical can one get. Buy in person so u can verify warranty dates.
