We bought the Go Pro Silver edition camera, and could not be happier! We recently took it scuba diving and snorkeling to the Bahamas, and the footage alone makes it worth every penny. If you are into action shots and adventure, you can't go wrong with this camera. I did not pay the extra for the Black edition, since for my needs this one serves right. Happy customer, might purchase a second one soon!
Great for underwater, perfect for paintball. WIFI is awesome with IPhone.
Great camera. Took to Yosemite with the wife and four small children. Camera survived and thrived. Now we have intimate video of kids hiking and playing in the Merced River. Do yourself a favor and go to the GoPro website and update your firmware before taking your Hero3 into action. I avoided LOTS of potential problems by doing so. And get yourselves some spare batteries, especially if you plan to use the bluetooth feature. The processor is great but needy for electricity. I bought two and burned up the juice of both of them by days end of heavy use. I bought sandisk 64GB sd cards. There are many reports of them not working well with GoPro Hero3. As yet, no problems with me. But I did update the firmware before using them. GoPro recommends Kingston 32GB sd cards, come to find out after I bought the sandisk. Happy shooting :)
The GoPro is a great camera. The videos and pictures are great quality. It was purchased for my son who is having a blast with it. The head mount and chest mount are great accessories. In fact it is hard to use the camera without some sort of mount.
Great product. We have been very happy with the GoPro3 Silver Edition Camera. We have used it to video our young children in the pool and look forward to taking it to the beach. Would highly recommend this product.
The photographic results from this exceed the earlier model. We have both.
It would be nice if the SD card came with the camera so you can open and use without making another purchase first.
I was so excited to give this to my husband. But I had no idea it didn't have a sim card or memory card I think it's called. I would have bought one too. He loves it anyway.
I have to admit that unboxing my GoPro was one of the funnest things I've ever done. But I have to say that I was more than a little unhappy when, immediately after unboxing it, I found a speck of dust inside the lens. Considering myself to be somewhat mechanically inclined, I thought I could fix this myself, but when I watched a YouTube video about the procedure I found that you have to take everything completely apart just to work on the lens. This was a little more work than I was willing to take on so I decided to take it back. I was fortunate in that I got the LCD backpack with my initial purchase, which helped me find the speck in the lens sooner than if I hadn't gotten the LCD backpack. It was noticeable from the first frame that I shot and appeared in every short test video that I created. I read some horror stories of people having a similar problem and not knowing it until they had gotten back from their vacation and then realized that most of their photos were ruined by a contaminant in the lens. After doing some research online I found that this was not an uncommon problem with the silver 3 hero. I am grateful that Walmart took it back and gave me back my money. I think it will be a while before I try to purchase another GoPro camera.
We returned it before we ever used it , because it ad too hard to figure out and we are reasonably tech savvy. It has absolutely no set up instructions, and after following the set-up instructions online, we just got a "device not found" response. Idk, we just gave up. Big problem....the best I could tell, the camera is in a waterproof case, but not warranted against water damage, because the case is not warranted. It doesn't come with instructions, but it does tell you that because of potential user error, the camera is not warranted against water damage. Hhhmmmm..... We ended up with an Olympus rough camera. We threw it around the beach, 20 feet under the ocean, in the sand, in the heat, bottom if a sand bucket, covered in shells, and it lives to show pictures. Oh yeh....it has instructions, but is so simple, it's not necessary
