I loved I can long enough record with not worries about battery, super light to hold and soft, easy to use. For now my favorite product.
I have had a Volta for some time now. This is an incredibly useful accessory. It is also extremely user friendly and versatile. You won't have to carry around extra batteries, and the Volta itself serves as a camera grip, with it's own set of controls. When used with the H9B and H10B the camera "beeps" are muted. And the Quick Capture function doesn't always work with the H10B. But with the H11B it works perfectly every time. Whatever camera I am using is always attached to, and paired with the Volta
I purchased the volta on 3/2023 and not even four months it broke down. They replaced me the refurbished one with a lot of scratch & wrist Strap was ripped. Very disappointed with the replacement.
I've been using the Volta for about 2 years now, I got it practically right when it came out. I don't know why I'm just now writing this. The Volta is great to be a good all in one- grip, tripod, remote, mount, everything. However, mine has some gnarly battery issues that I forget about every time I get back from a vacation and then remember again once I go to use it. If I leave the camera and Volta set up, all connected, the Volta charges the camera even if the Volta is turned off. That drains the Volta. Then, when that is drained, and the camera recognizes it is no longer connected to power, that turns my camera on, and drains the battery. If I remember to unplug the Volta, that then turns the camera on and drains the battery in the camera. Those two issues are so frustrating to me and after my last lil vacation stint with the lady, I have decided to ditch it.
This is my second time buying the volta. Both my camera and volta got a little wet after the I took my gopro ALONE while swimming in Hawaii. Somehow the inside of the camera got wet and it just gave me a low battery icon. So I got on land, and plugged in the volta and that instantly broke as well. I was shocked, no pun intended. Here I am buying another one. Please learn from me! Even as a gopro plus subscriber, I've spent more than 230 replacing my camera and this grip, for a waterproof action camera. SMH
I purchased the volta when it came out to use with my hero 10 but never really had the chance to put it to the test until this year. I have the Media Mod attached and this puts a huge amount of tension on the cable connector because of the angle of the plug on the Media Mod. The pc board on the connector snapped in half during the first day of use, leaving the connector inside the plug and the cable with only the broken pc board sticking out. Unfortunately the purchase is out of warranty and I am stuck with a useless paperweight. The USB connector seems to be proprietary, otherwise I would just solder a new one on. I may end up trying this anyhow, but replacement connectors do not have a place for all of the wires, so I am afraid I will lose functionality of the controls, but at least I will have a larger battery. BTW GoPro is aware of this flaw because of the many messages I see in their forum but have done nothing to address it. A simple adapter to change the angle for use with the Media Mod would solve the problem.
Shipped from GoPro and would not charge completely.
