Love making Pico De Gallo always hated chopping fresh cilantro it was everywhere. This is blended in with so many other flavors, this paste for my purpose is great.
Love this stuff! I have tried many of the different flavors and they are perfect for adding to soups and stews and/or dollops on soups, stews and pastas.
I use this to cook with and it works great! I'm sure it probably doesn't taste good if you put it on your food as a topping, but for cooking, it's much closer to the fresh stuff than dried cilantro is.
this order wad all correct except i hot a granny smith apple in one of my bags. i didnt bother bringing it back
Terrible aftertaste; no cilantro flavor at all. If you like overpriced green sludge that ruins whatever you stir it into, then you will love this product. Good for practical jokes.
do NOT buy this moosh! it's so gross. and overpriced. I was so sick of buying bunches of cilantro at love this brand's garlic paste, I was tempted to purchase. So, here's my brutally honest, home chef opinion, I'm keeping my professional opinion out of it: How on earth can a company package fresh herb(s) in a tube, and it not taste like that herb? That's what Gourmet Garden has done. This tastes like nothing, feels like actual snot on the tongue, and doesn't mix into foods unless you blend it, and / or heat it up, i.e., add to a dish still cooking. When I make guacamole at home, I don't put it in a blender, I like mine chunky, so I just mash my avocados and then add all chopped ingredients. Plus, since this has NO flavor, it doesn't add to the taste (I realize that's obvious). The leaves aren't chopped then added to this mixture , which is apparent once a clump of it entered my mouth, and I felt it on my tongue. I was able to pull pu an entire stem of leaves with gunk all over it. I didn't inspect the entire tube, but I did look through the rest of my guacamole to pull out even more fully intact stems with leaves. The description does say chopped cilantro, but the ingredients list states "organic cilantro." So, just buy a bunch of the fresh stuff, and if you want to have extra, chop it, put it in a container with a little bit of oil, freeze it, and you'll have a better version of this overpriced junk. In my professional opinion: It's ridiculous that this doesn't taste like the cilantro that's floating in this tube. And there's a very simple way to chop the herb before putting it into the vat of gunk afterward. So, Gourmet Gardens, get rid of the xantham gum, and the glycerin, and maybe actually use a robot coupe.
After trying this I lost trust in the brand. The flavor of this had me heaving. I recommend to someone with a less discerning palette and certainly something that has at least a dozen other ingredients to cover up the after taste of this attempt at cilantro. I recommend taking the time to chop your own store bought bunches.
Every cilantro paste has its own flavor. Some taste good. Some are sickeningly gross. None of them taste like cilantro. This one is grass.
I ordered a fresh cilantro plant not gooey pay. This happens to me more often than not, but it's OK. I'll try this time.
This does not taste like cilantro. We tried adding to tacos but it had no flavor, and we threw the rest of the tube away. It is almost flavorless and a little sweet - strange. Suggest discontinuing this product if you cannot make it taste more like the fresh herb.
