Unless you have a home with an expansion of 600 feet indoors you'll never use this described capability. This unit works very good indoors in our 2000 sq foot home, with No static at all when compared to the two other models we tested. However, we purchased a unit with this range to allow us to venture outdoors and monitor our baby. Don't try it, it looses it's signal completely at 30 feet from the unit if outdoors.
