I bought this car seat for my first child after we had a very bad experience with a different brand, when our second child needed one we didn't hesitate to buy the same seat. The kids are very comfortable in the seat and they love the cup holders and little compartments to keep things in for long car journeys.
I love this seat. I bought the elite to use in my vehicle and another Nautilus for my daughter's dad's car. My daughter is really tall and thin and she fits in this seat really well. I love that the head support is adjustable to her height and feel better knowing the sides of it can be positioned closer to her head than other seats. The only frustration I had was taking it apart and cleaning it and trying to get it back together. My daughter is now four and we have used it since she turned one. My mother has a much cheaper seat in her car and it makes me appreciate the Nautilus!
I bought this almost 3 years now and so far my son loves it. He's very comfortable and I know he's safe on this car seat. Since we have kids all our stuff are Graça brand because they're very reliable and kids friendly. Thats why I recommend this car seat or brand.
We searched for weeks for the right car seat for our son as he started to out grow his carrier. Looking through the INHS we stumbled across the nautilus and agreed on it. The convenience of transitioning to a booster and the overall rating and great price was a no brainier for us. It's easy to install and use and would highly reccomened this carseat to anyone.
I do believe extended rear facing is by far safer than forward facing, so I think this seat is great for age 2 and up. This seat installs easily into every vehicle I have tried, so far (vans, trucks, cars, all of it). I love the steel reinforced frame, the high top harness slots that accommodate my longer torso'd kids, the 65lb weight limit allows me to harness my kids until I really believe they are mature enough for a booster seat. My ds1 is 6.5yo and 40lbs on the 3rd harness slot; my ds2 is 4yo, 40lbs is also on the 3rd harness slot. This seat fits them both PERFECTLY even though one is lean/short and the other average. The high back booster adjusts very tall and also positions the lap portion of the seat belt low like it should. The open belt guides for the shoulder strap also help the shoulder portion retract properly so the belt stays snug even if the kids lean forward. It is heavy, especially for a booster, but if I recall correctly it can be top tethered in booster mode. Have not tested the low back booster separately, but I think it will be just fine in a few years when my kids OR their friends need it. I own 4 Nautilus seats... 3 regular & one Elite version. The Elite has 1 feature I NEEDED.. the lock-off, because I have a spot in my car where a lock-off is necessary for a proper install (seat fits like a dream, rock solid, but that seat-belts sliding latch-plate cracked and now I have to use a locking clip in that location to hold the belt securely) I also like that the elite has the adjustable head-wings; my 4yo still naps in the car and I have read that these wings have helped others with the sleepy-slump. :) Note: I have studied car-seats for 6years: the best car seat is the one that fits the child, the car, and the wallet... and that gets used correctly 100% of the time.. The GNautilus meets those needs for me AND my kids LOVE them... especially the cubby spots and cup holder. Well done Graco, well done. Riding in the car is the most dangerous thing my kids do, and they do it everyday. -PB
We were in the market for a new carseat for our 4 year old. After extensive research, I narrowed it down to this carseat. It has all the features we needed. We are able to keep our daughter in a 5 pt harness and also will be able to use this same carseat as a booster when she outgrows the limits for the 5 pt harness. We have used this carseat for alost a month and we are still just as pleased with our purchase. Our daughter is even excited about her carseat and I can tell she is very comfortable. Comfort for her and comfort for me knowing she is safe and protected. Thanks Graco!
A friend recommended this car seat, I am a %100 satisfied with its many convenient features. My favorite part is the 3 conversions, I am a huge fan of products that serve more than more purpose. My toddler is growing like a weed, its comforting knowing that his car seat will grow with him!
We recently purchased this carseat in the Gabe style and we LOVE it! It was easy to put together, put in the car, and use. I love the 2 way adjustable headrest. I look forward to using this with my son as he continues to need a carseat and not have to purchase others. I have not had to take the cover off to clean it yet but it looks easy. Love this seat so far! We are currently using it with the 5 pt harness.
I love the fact that this is the only 3-in-1 or covertible carseat out there that has a seatbelt lock-off. I just don't trust those locking clips. My son loves the seat and he looks so comfortable when he is in it. I love the long-use capability and sturdy design. A great value for the price!
At first we found the crotch strap short and bothersome for our 3 1/2 year old grandson. After further review of comments posted on other sites, I unhooked the shoulder strap fed it back through the seat and repositioned it through a lower strap opening that was at shoulder height of our seated grandson. This gave me an extra 2 inches of strap. I did the same for the other strap and the extra inches worked like a charm. Just make sure you maneuver the straps so that they are above the rollers behind the seat.
