I get this 25 pound bag of flour every year to use for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and this is the second year that I have had it delivered (free) to my home. It is a great value, great in everything I bake and make.
This is a top-notch product and "great value". I do need to get some large containers to keep the flour fresh. So far I have used this flour to make pizza and rolls. This flour can do anything the other flours do.
Either way you say it, this 25 lb bag of All Purpose flour is a bargain. For less than $10 you get the equivalent of 5 five-pound bags. At two bucks a pop, it's a no-brainer. I bake. I bake bread. I bake a lot of bread. On a daily basis. Oatmeal, baguettes, sourdough boules, sourdough rye, dinner rolls, hot dog and hamburger buns, focaccia, pizza - I am obsessed with bread! Our house smiles when the bread is baking and is almost done. Such an aroma! It is reason enough to buy flour in bulk. There is no better perfume, with the exception of that first whiff of the first cup of coffee of the day. But coffee makes a lousy loaf of bread. Buy this huge sack of ground wheat instead. You are most welcome ;-)
This is all purpose sifted flour. You can use it for most all your baking. At this present price and 25 pound bags, the cost is $0.33 cents per pound. I'm not sure if you could find it at any lower cost than this unless you go out and thrash it yourself. I use it for most all my baking. I make yeast rolls, biscuits, breads, pizza crusts, pie crusts, cakes, cookies, and more, all using this flour. I store it in huge jars with good seals. I don't put it in the fridge nor the freezer. As stated, I store it in huge glass jars and I have never seen any bugs or critters in this flour. It's not like it will last you years. If you're frequently baking something, it will probably last you three or six months. If you rarely use flour, then I wouldn't suggest buying this size bag. You can easily do the math. On average for all purpose flour, 4 cups = 1 pound. The expiration date on the recent bag I purchased, is approximately one year from my date of purchase. Therefore, you can do your math on how many cups of flour you generally use per week and how long it would take you to use up 25 pounds of flour.
Good value ! Same stuff as name brand it seems to me for making bread dough and a couple dollars less per bag. Actually seems ground slightly finer so it wet's slightly quicker.
This is a big bag of flour. Only get this if you are a regular baker otherwise it will take you years to go through it all. For those that bake a lot though, it's nice to be able to get bags in this size.
Cooks great breads, focaccia, rolls, cakes, cookies and brownies. Can't beat the price - even at BJs Love having bulk flour delivered to my little apartment in Manhattan with free delivery for purchases over $45. Thank you Walmart. Saves me lugging it up 5 floors and on the subway without a car. Love it! BTW, what doesn't fit in the current canister, goes into ziplock bags in the freezer - no infestations and doesn't affect the taste.
I am avid walmart shopper I decided to buy this item online because I am unable to get to a store in person but it was shipped with other items and improperly packed and the entire package and its contents were punctured and fell apart by the time it was delivered. Very poor and disappointing packing for shipment but otherwise a good product for the value.
I bake bread two or three times a week and this works well in my recipes. I used to buy the "Better for Bread" flour but find this works just as well if you allow the gluten to form in the dough by mixing longer. The texture of the breads I have made with this have been good and as far as I am concerned it is a good all purpose flour. The value is great. The price is well worth it and I will be purchasing it again.
Did not arrive but was charged for it. Totally bogus since I have no car and this was the main reason I chose delivery instead of regular shopping.
