the product serves its purpose as I have frequently bought it. it's just that this time it arrived with the wrapper almost completely off of it. so ask to rather not this is actually vegetable shortening that is questionable.
i use it all the time for my cake icing and it tastes great
I have no problem with this product. As a matter of fact I buy and use it all the time. Its a great product. What I was completely and utterly disgusted with was the horrible horrible care with which my items were packed and shipped. They were tossed in a box that was about three times the size needed with minimal packing material, most were busted open upon arrival. While I am quite aware the box may not have been handled with care during shipping, had the items been packaged properly in the correct size box that wouldnt have been an issue. This is completely unacceptable. I run a business that depends on timely, accurate deliveries of the goods I purchase and this costs me extra time and money. Unacceptable Wal-Mart, unacceptable!
Piece of red gum was stuck to one of the shortenings, but it all came nicely in the box and it was great.
Great for frying. Batter has a good crunch to it much better than oil. Cake is fluffy and pie crust flaky!!!
Quality for a great price. I had a project that required a great amount of shortening and using this product provided great results and it was half the cost.
TERRIBLE!! Got it to make fried chicken. It bubbles like water!! I watched the temperature %26 everything. I will definitely not buy this brand again. I have used it before with no problem but I have noticed the Great Value brand has changed BIG TIME after the pandemic. This is not the only product I have had trouble with..
The flavor is so bad . I made biscuits and gravy and ruined whole meal. Tried to fry chicken with it and no one could eat it. The flavor is sucking
Last order, my box of Ritz was 1/2 crushed so I had to chuck some. I didnt complain because things happen. However, in this order, the 2 tubs of Vegetable Shortening were crushed enough that the covers were off and the cellophane wrap was torn leaving the shortening in air to collect cardboard dust particles during shipping. Leaving this gross and unusable. The box was not cruched or bent so I can only say it must have been thrown at some time. The 1 little piece of air bag was flatten and held no air to protect the food. Im not usually a complainer but money spent to only be wasted is not ok by me.
I am required to dig opened shortening out of the trash that I received with an entire container of open laundry detergent spilled all over and inside of.
