This is my 3rd purchase of this ground mustard. It's a great value and good quality. I use it to make my own chicken seasoning blend. It adds a nice flavor to pork and poultry.
Has to be old stock. Zero taste.
The package has changed and the product is not as good. It used to be great, but now is like mush and bitter. Why is there no country of origin on the package, and why can't I find out where it's made? Distributed by Sam's doesn't tell us where it's made. Could be batch made in China and packaged here - who knows!
I'm reviewing dry mustard. Not at all good. No heat so I"m assuming it was not stored correctly since it seems a bit stale. Bought this so I wouldn't use up my expensive Asian hot mustard powder. My bad. Will be returning.
I don't know if this was stale or what but it had no flavor or scent. I mixed with cold water to activate the mustard but still flavorless and inconsistent texture, could be finer. I don't think it would contribute anything flavor wise in recipes. Strange basically sawdust.
I thought the other reviews were exaggerating but I should have listened. Its completely tasteless. another review mentioned "saw dust" and that's pretty close but saw dust has a scent. this literally tastes and smells of nothing. the 2year expired mccormick bottle i was trying to replace has more flavor than this stuff
I couldn't open this at all, no body in our house could open it, I tried to take a knife to it but it just got plastic shavings in the ground mustard which made it not safe to eat. For some reason this great value ground mustard is not great.
I made the mistake of thinking there wouldn't be a difference between my usual brand of dry mustard and this. The reviewers who've said this tastes like sawdust are spot on - this is going in the garbage and I'll be getting Colman's mustard powder on my next order.
