I absolutely love this flour. It is organic..bakes well and is priced right.I use it for holiday baking, pizza crusts, pancakes, everything.I have not been able to find it in the stores though..disappeared.So happy I found it online..ordered two for now!
We have been used this for a long time now and love it. I just wish they have bigger packages for it like 10 and 20 pounds.
Doesn't have a bunch of stuff in it. Just says flour. That's all I've ever wanted. It being truly organic is a mystery tho. I did a blind taste test and this stuff did taste about as good as the expensive organic stuff I got online so I'll be buying this from now on.
Organic (unbleached) Whole Wheat Flour is the only ingredient in this and a few other Organic AP Flour brands that I've used. So one would think that it "should" be relabled "Whole Wheat Flour". Traditional AP Flours don't have whole wheat, just bleached/unbleached refined wheat plus vitamins. For me, this flour is perfect! I've created my own recipes. For others... That difference in whole vs refined wheat may or may not work well with the recipe that you're following.
great product at great price
There is definitely something wrong with this flour. I almost lost my sourdough starter from using it to feed it. It would barely bubble, but it definitely wouldn't rise. I believe it is bleached. I counted on it not being bleached because the ingredients say "organic wheat flour." If you read any other flour labels they all say that they are bleached. Bleaching is not an organic process at all, so they should label the package accordingly. That is a very important issue for people who are trying to buy organic and avoid chemicals. I changed my flour...went with an unbleached non-organic because it was all I could find during the pandemic. My sourdough starter then bubbled and rose. HMMMM....confirms my suspicion about this four. And if it is not bleached, then they are doing something else to it and the company should be transparent and inform the consumer of exactly what they are buying.
Was so happy to find organic at this price, but now I am concerned. It says organic, but my sour starter was negatively effected! Is this company using the technique to dry the wheat at once by using Roundup? I have learned this is a convenient and wide spread practice that is used now, but then its not organic. But that would explain why it is killing the starter... roundup is a nondiscriminant poison, not just killing weeds and plants that have not been engineered to have resistance to it, but also kills the organisms in the soil and in the gut. Since I have a sensitivity to Roundup, I always buy organic to avoid exposure and getting sick. so strange... this is organic? really? is there a loophole in that lable? I bought a bunch of it and now Im scared to use it. can we ask the company and get an informed definitive answer?
these were delivered damaged. bought 3 bags and two were open at the end.
The box the flour came in! there were 6 - 5 lb bags and they were put into a giant flat box with no stuffing and it was so stupid of logistics to not recognize that the flour wasn't a 25lb single bag! HOW STUPID is WALMARTS Logistics NOW! 4 damaged bags that can be salvaged YES but not stored well. THANKS FOR NOT BEING SMART!
Very little protein content. Bought gv organic flour to compare to the pricier King Arthur organic. Was excited when I saw how much cheaper it was . Now I know why. Low quality product and low protein. Made seitan and ended up with 1/4 the amount that I yeild from 5 lbs of KA. Will not purchase again.
