Great price! I use this to make a white chocolate vanilla bean mousse. Taste great. Melts nicely.
These have the same ingredients, in the same order, and taste the same as way more expensive Ghirardelli white chocolate bars. BTW, if you're wavering whether to get bars or chips to bake with, get the bars! The chips, any brand, don't have any cocoa butter, which is what makes it white chocolate and not just white melting crap. The bars work better in any application.
I love this Baking chocolate! Making chocolates at home is a hobby of mine, I've found working with any form of white chocolate to be a bit fussy and hard to deal with- not so with this! I usually got the more expensive brand and it would get clumpy after a while, very finicky and heat sensitive. This brand seems to stay silky longer and the one time it started to clump a bit of milk stirred in stopped the clumping immediately. Unreal how a product that costs $3 less works so much better and it tastes the same, couldn't tell them apart in side by side comparison! Beyond impressed and will keep getting this brand from now on, Great Value is great stuff!
Being able to find the size I needed
I was going to order this chocolate until I did the math on it myself. I don't know who figures out the price per ounce at corporate, but I'm just giving you heads up to always do it yourself. When it said $.17 an ounce, I put it in my cart because it was the least expensive white chocolate for baking. But the chocolate is almost 2 dollars and it has 4 ounces in it, which makes it $.50 an ounce. I removed it from my cart and added some white chocolate morsels instead. I have not tasted this particular chocolate, I'm sure it tastes just fine, That is why I'm still giving 4 stars. I am taking off one for the incorrect pricing
I liked this. I have nothing to compare it to, I'm not known for baking desserts so take my review with a grain of salt, lol. ...Creamy, Melts in your fingers, Buttery, Velvety. Prevalent Sugary sweetness with a subtle hint of Milk %26 Vanilla... I ate half of this like a candy bar and would buy it again as a snack and for white chocolate chunks and cranberry cookies. .
This is advertised as $1.98 and 16.5 cents per ounce. But the package says it's only 4oz. So this is either really 49.5 cents per ounce, or it's really a 12oz bar and the pictures are wrong. That's a huge difference. Something is off there.
works well for most things but not everything. if you have a finicky recipe go with something else.
It burnt a whole in my container and also burnt on low in the pan. It would not melt. I won't buy this again. It may be okay for baking, but not melting.
Price per ounce is incorrect, $1,98 for 4 ounces is $.49 per ounce, not $.16 per ounce!
