I love GreenWorks tools!
(5)
Reviewed in the USA on 2016-01-30T16:00:00

I just got my Greenworks Blower last week and already love it! The blower was very easy to put together and use. From unpacking to using it was less than 10 minutes. The first thing I noticed is the blower felt a lot lighter than my electric blower and I was pleasantly surprised that it also seems to have the same power. It also felt very comfortable to hold. Since we had a nice day today and the snow is all almost gone I was able to go outside and give it a try. It moved the leaves as well as my electric blower. I love that I no longer have to get out the cord and be tied to the cord. Since it is January I couldn't really give it a good workout like in summer/fall but I was able to clean off my two side decks and carport area. It was awesome! Worked just as well as my old electric blower without the fuss of getting out the extension cord. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten that cord tangled up in bushes or something else and the time spent plugging it in because I tried to go to far and pulled to hard. Not to mention how many times I have tripped over the cord... This battery powered blower makes all those issues a memory! The other reason I love this Greenworks blower is, We have a pretty big yard and there is only 1 outdoor plug by the front door so I always had to run the cord inside to blow off the side deck or backyard area. This completely eliminates that problem. Since it is so quick and easy to use I can see myself using it a lot more then I did with the electric one. For a quick job you can just grab it and blow off the area you need to and put it away with no hassles. As for battery life...I really can't be sure since it is winter. However I used the battery charge that came with it and it still has power after a good 30 minutes use. I believe it will last as long as I need to do my yard. Unless you have a super huge yard I think you wont have any problem with battery life. And the best part is this has a great warranty. 4 years on the tool and 2 years on the battery. So you know you will have it for years unlike the 1 year warranty most have. Also the battery can be used in 25 other Greenwork tools. This alone is a huge savings since you can buy the tools separately without the battery. I already have my eye on the cultivator for my spring garden! One last thing...I love the color! The light green really stands out and will be very easy to see/find when you go looking in your tool shed.

Greenworks 40V Axial Blower with 2.5 Ah Battery!

I received the Greenworks 40V Axial Blower with 2.5 Ah Battery, 1 Hour Charger like a few weeks ago, and let me just say I was trilled when I seen this Greenworks product is being offered by WalMart. This Greenworks 40V Axial Blower would make my 3rd Greenworks product which I own for my yardwork. At this time I'm unable to test the product because I'm in Buffalo, NY where the weather can change at the drop of a dime, but this won't stop me from writing a review on such a great company in Greenworks and the product. The Axial Blower would make the excellent tool to have like I said for yardwork when you're cutting your grass and need to get the grass clippings back onto your property and for the leaves that fall from off the trees during the change of seasons. What's also great about Greenworks products is the 40V battery which can be used all its cordless products which uses a 40V battery. So if you're looking for a bit of lite weight yard tool the Greenworks 40V Axial Blower is the tool for you, and the 40V Battery comes with a 1 Hour Charger which makes it a plus for this item. It will make the prefect gift for those who love to do yardwork like myself...

A Leaf's Enemy: Greenworks 40V Axial Blower

Reviewed in the USA on 2016-02-08T16:00:00

My review today is on the Greenworks 40 Volt Axial Blower that has a 2.5 Ah rechargeable Battery with charge base included. This selection could not have come at a better time than now. My yard has 6 big Oak trees, 1 large Pine tree, 2 Popcorn trees, and 3 Magnolia trees. That being said, can you just imagine all the leaves on the ground? It's a major job but this Greenworks blower has proven that it's up to such a job. The 40 Volt battery is the industry's largest system. It can also interchangeable with many other Greenworks tools as well. This blower is not hard to assemble. The blower tube is easy to put on and the blower itself is light in weight. In fact, the Greenworks Axial Blower is 44 % lighter than a gas blower. It's battery attaches to the charger as well to the blower with the greatest of ease. It has no cord to fuss with. I personally think using a gas blower or an electric cord blower is dangerous. I know that I would be somewhat distracted using a gasoline blower in close proximity to my body. I am not someone who wants to fool with an electric cord either. For example, if I were using an electric mower or trimmer the cord would create an unnecessary distraction for me. I would be worrying about cutting the cord some kind of way or end up tripping and falling down. That's just the way I am and I'd prefer not to deal with such things. This particular blower has a special feature. There is a changeable speed lever on the blower. When it is depressed it lets you control the air speed. I especially like this because it keeps my hand from getting tired. Nowadays, with so many people using computers in their employment, chances of developing some hand and wrist problems are increased. I suffer with Carpal tunnel pain in my dominate hand. Without this feature I would experience pain while trying to use the blower. Having a controlled air flow feature eliminates this situation for me. I never liked the on/off grip control on my previous blowers. In pointing out the fact that Greenworks blower has no cord, uses no gas or oil, makes this practically a no maintenance, hassle free tool for the buyer. It has a Lithium battery pack that can deliver a steady 2.5 ampere-hour of current for about an hour. It takes around 30 minutes to charge this battery. You should have twice the amount of current once it is charged, meaning one hour usage (give or take a few minutes). This blower has the capacity to blow 390 cubic feet per minute at a rate of 110 miles per hour. In other words, it blows very hard and it is powerful. It should be able to vigorously blow through all types of surfaces. The only complaint I can list is that it is loud for me. I would suggest using earplugs for protection. Greenworks makes other lawn care tools that are compatible with this battery system. I just want to list a few for your information. They have a rotating hedge trimmer, chainsaw, 1/2 gallon air compressor, string trimmer, impact driver, cordless cultivator, and lastly a snow thrower. I will never own a snow thrower because it rarely snows in South Mississippi. I think that the Greenworks Axial Blower is a most useful, very needed lawn tool for any home. I would recommend this product to anyone with a yard to maintain.

FROM BACKUP TO FIRST CHOICE!

I took a hard look at my first blower and decided I needed a lighter backup. Found one in Greenworks! The 40V Axial Blower comes with a 2.5 Ah Lithium battery and 1 hour charger. It's smaller, less bulky and again, CORDLESS. This will allow me to move freely and, maybe, climb a ladder to get all the leaves out of our gutters! It's a bonus not to have to worry about extension cords and any wiring hangups or disconnects. Morning of Test Run: Plugged in the charger, positioned the battery pack and slotted it into place. Next, enjoyed breakfast. By the time we all finished, the green light was on and the battery fully charged. Hand Unit: Attached both tubes, then the battery pack. It's well balanced and not too heavy. The trigger is located in the handle and it's large and comfortable to power on and off. Goal: Clean up backyard. Result: It does a GREAT JOB. SUPER EASY TO USE. I could adjust the force by how much pressure I placed on the trigger and for constant, maximum power, there's a convenient flip lock to put it into "cruise" control. Add a strap, and next time, I MIGHT climb that ladder!

I bought 3 others before purchasing this one and all 3 battery only worked about 20 minutes. This one is the Best of all 3. I have used it a hour or more with out having to recharge the battery. It is light weight. I truly feel I finally found the right one. I also put the extra warranty on it. I do not allow any one to use it. Its my favorite toy. My husband has his tools to use and he do not touch my toy.

Lightweight & SAFE Yard Blower for Active Seniors
(5)
Reviewed in the USA on 2016-02-16T16:00:00

As an active and independent senior, I still enjoy doing my own yard work. Several years ago when I reached my 70th birthday I finally realized my heavy, two-cycle gas powered unit was too cumbersome and not safe for me to clean my gutters on the roof anymore. Additionally, the on-going maintenance was also a 'pain' - the constant addition of fuel stabilizer, cleaning the air filter, along with changing the spark plug. Not to mention the tedious gas and oil mixtures, which were never accurate, but always messy. One drop of oil too much, or, too little, and, the beast would not start, etc. YUK! So, I converted to a lighter corded, electric blower. The electric blower was not quite as weighty as the gas unit, but still taxing to carry, including dragging the bungling extension cord around. All was fine until I clumsily tripped over my 100 foot extension cord in November and nearly tumbled off the roof. After that fiasco I decided working SAFER and smarter was my new priority. I anxiously looked forward to receive this complimentary Greenworks 40V Lithium-Ion Axial Blower to put it through its paces in my own yard, and, to see if it was a SAFER and smarter piece of yard equipment to use. I was also curious to see how it would compare to my 120V electric, corded unit, blowing leaves out of my rain gutters and tree debris off my roof. It only took 5 minutes to assemble out of the box, and ready to use. However, the battery needed to be charged, which took approximately one hour. While on the roof this Greenworks battery-powered blower did an excellent job for me. It features variable speed along with a trigger lock for times when you need, or, don't need full power. It is noticeably lightweight to carry around (6 pounds) and powerful enough to handily blow all the wet leaves out of my rain gutters and other debris off my roof. And, most important to me, it is a much SAFER blower to use while climbing and walking all over the roof. WooHoo! Although I was only on the roof for approximately 30 minutes, the battery charge lasted another 25 minutes on the ground while I blew leaves and debris from my walks, patio, and garage entrance as well. I considered battery operated yard equipment several years ago, but the technology was not quite there at the time. However, this Greenworks 40V G-Max Blower utilizes an axial fan, which uses a propeller to draw the air into the fan and discharge it in the same axial direction, thereby, maximizing air flow efficiency. The engineering of this Greenworks blower, lightweight, and jet-fan design allows me to keep my goal of working smarter. I have found some interesting additional functions this blower can be handy for over the past two weeks: I used it to dry my car off after washing rather then tedious hand wiping with cloths; I dusted Darlene's artificial plants clean with this variable speed blower; I blew off sand, clippings, and dirt from my yard tractor, and even cleaned the engine's air filter with it; I cleaned lint dust out my dryer duct; and, I have even used it to blow off the dirt from the bottom of my work boots after working in the yard. I fastened an old luggage carrying strap, that had clasps on both ends, to the blower body so I could free both of my hands while climbing the ladder to my roof and still carry the blower up too. I felt it was much SAFER for me. Hope that the good folks at Greenworks will consider adding two eye hooks to the body of this blower in the future. Install one at the back of the blower just above the air intake, and, on the front of the body just ahead of the trigger handle (see attached pic). For seniors like me having an option to use a carrying strap is a great help, and again, much safer for us to use. I am impressed with the axial, jet design and lightweight of this battery-powered blower. The fact that the battery in this unit can be used in over 25 other pieces of Greenworks yard equipment is a plus, plus. I highly recommend this blower for the many tasks you can use it for both in and outside of your home. So, if you are looking for a gift, or, just want your senior parents, grandparents, or friends to have a great piece of yard equipment that will still allow them to be independent, active, and safer – consider the Greenworks 40V Lithium-Ion Axial Blower. You will not be disappointed.

I love this Greenworks 40V Axial Blower with 2.5 Ah Battery! I like the lime green and black colors. It was very easy to put together. You just had to attach two tubes to the blower. Instructions was included. The battery took about 30 minutes to fully charge. On the cord, it has a label to tell you what the different colors on the charging base means. The battery is very easy to attach to the charger and blower. The blower is very light-weight. The blower works amazing! It was blowing dry leaves, wet leaves, rocks, small sticks and in my yard: toys. It is very powerful. It stays charged for 1 hour. I am impressed with this awesome blower, It has a cruise control with different speeds. It was low noise and had no vibration. There is no maintenance. From what I understand, this one battery will fit all of their other tools. They have 25+ tools, The instructions say to not store the battery on the charging base or leave it attached to the blower. I think that it is worth the price. I look forward to getting the other Greenworks tools.

The unit is very light weight, even the honey doesn't mind using it. As you can see in most of the video, she is the one using the blower. This is a very quiet & quite powerful unit. It was blowing wet pine needles off the wet asphalt quite easily. We have an electric blower, which we usually use. This Green Works blower is much better, & certainly much lighter. It doesn't vibrate like others. The path it blows is wide, yet it 'cuts' through very easily. If you need a more narrow path, for trim work or something, this isn't made for that, but should be able to handle most of it. I like to blow out the SUV of pine needles from time to time, though it did a nice job, it did have a bit of a hard time under the wiper arms with wet needles. Certainly not a reason against it, I'm just letting you know. Charge time for the battery isn't bad at all. In fact you could get your day started by charging the battery & have it ready when you are. Neither the battery, nor the charger were hot at all. In fact, my phone gets hotter with a charge than this does. There weren't any smells or odors. Also, in use, neither the battery nor the blower were hot to touch. A little warm, but again, vs the phone I captured the video on-the blower was slightly warm. Assembly is very easy. The battery slides in place nicely, & feels secure. You unlock it to come out, & it has a bit of resistance. The blower tube comes off of the unit with a turn, so it is easier to store, except you have to find some place to put that tube. There isn't a specific hanging eyelet, which I feel would be a nice feature, but there is always the handle. I totally love the on off switch on the handle. It's big, so you can just hold the handle & depress the switch. It also has a 'cruise control' lever that will keep it going for you. Both can be done with one hand. The control feature is great when you want to manipulate the blower, with out the handle. Perhaps into the bottom of a tall garbage can. I like that it's ready to use & can go pretty much any place. That is, you don't have to get the monster extension cord out. If you've ever run out of length, you will appreciate not being tethered any more. One great feature is that you can buy more tools & use the same battery. They do sell the tools separate from the battery, but that's a great way to get more batteries if you'd like.

Surprisingly Powerful

I live in an older neighborhood with huge trees which deposit large amounts of leaves on our yard each year. We just moved in back in January of 2015, so this fall was our first experience dealing with the mess. We found that using a leaf blower was paramount in getting the yard cleared in a reasonable amount of time. We purchased a gas-powered model which worked very well, but it could feel heavy over time and was very loud. We thought we'd give a battery-powered model a try, so we chose Greenworks 40V Axial Blower. So far we've enjoyed the product, with a few compliments and criticisms: With the 40V battery, we were surprised at the power this blower had. We went to work on a layer of leaves that has been sitting there for well over a month. These leaves have been rained on and have also had 4 inches of snow on top at one point. So they're a bit heavy in spots. The blower handled the leaves without a problem. The detachable battery is very convenient, and we like how the battery meter is easy to see while in use, giving the user a clear reading on how much time/power is left. The weight of the machine is also significantly lighter than our gas-powered model, as a tank of gas weighs far more than this 40V battery. Handling it was much easier. When assembling the blower, take note that the front portion of the blower tube (which is narrower) is nested within the rear portion of the blower tube. Be sure to separate the two sections of blower tube before assembling. This is not mentioned in the instructions, so it took us a minute to figure out why the blower tube was so short, and why it wasn't assembling correctly. While the Greenworks blower is quieter than our other (at about 87db inside), there is a high-frequency sound that's emitted that can be a bit annoying over time. As such, we felt the need to wear hearing protection, which is recommended in the owner's manual anyway. It might be a nice feature for Greenworks to include in the packaging a small set of earplugs, just as a courtesy. Despite a couple of reservations, we have been very happy with this blower and look forward to using it as we finish out clearing our lawn from this fall's deposit, and will continue to use it for years to come.
