Perfect For Metallica Fans, but probably Metallica fans only will like it. This has so many great songs, and there is bound to be many you like or have heard of. I kinda would have liked a few from the S and M album but there are not any. Other than that, good songs, but a bit too expensive for what you get.
We bought this for our grandson for Christmas. He was thrilled. He is very good at guitar hero, and plays with friends. He loves this game, and was happy to receive this as a gift.
Guitar Hero Metallica is deffinitely harder than Guitar Hero World Tour. The gameplay is slightly improved because you don't have to be as precise hitting the notes that you don't have to strum on. GH World Tour was a little too picky on the margin of error. The overall experience is much better than that of Guitar Hero Aerosmith in my opinion.
Lots of Metallica songs and songs that Metallica did the cover for (except the original band is the one on the game). More variety than I expected but still all tied into Metallica.
Ok, if you're a Metallica fan, this is the game for you! I was not interested in Guitar Hero until I played this in the store. I am even more pleased now that I play it everyday. If you are in for a challenging game, with great rock, you have found Utopia! Enjoy!
This game is just what it should be - tons of fun and wonderfully grahiced. What it isn't? Like the other Guitar Hero games. I've played just about all of them, and they all have slight differences, but this one is very much different. It offers higher levels, a foot pedal for the "expert +" portion of the game, and the weirdest thing is how usually you unlock new songs by playing 4 out of 5, but this one isn't like that, you get them all pretty much at once, and it seems you have to get them all done, but can do it on pretty much any difficulty you want. There are some cooler guitars, and you're allowed to edit EVERYTHING from your guitar, to your character and his or her tattoos, clothes, shoes, hair, eyes... it's just very indepth. I think this is the perfect addition to any guitar hero collection, or a place for someone who likes Metallica to start... because there is ALOT of Metallica songs on this one.
My Grandson has finally stopped shooting up things on Video Games and has now taken up Guitar AND Drums ( real ones ).. This game and the ones like it I HIGHLY recommend. They love to put on concerts for family and friends.... Way To Go!! A Kijillion Kudos to the maker of this game ( EA Games I think =-?
This guitar hero game in the guitar hero series is a great game. Most of the songs are very long though (like 9 min. long or longer). The average guitar song in most guitar hero games are aprox. 5 min. I like Metallica so I bought this - it exceeded my expetations as far as game difficulty is concerned. I have to play some of the songs on medium because they are so hard but on the other guitar games I can play just on hard or expert. It comes with an Expert+ level for drums (but you are supposed to use two kick pedals). The game design is kind of dull compared to the other guitar hero games in that the song list and loading screens are not in full color. I don't recommend this game for anybody that doesn't like Metallica or doesn't like playing songs that are really long. (You will find that very quickly you become bored).
Didn't know what to purchase for my son-in-law's birthday. Heard about this and knowing what a huge fan he is of this band, I bought it. It was a hit he loves it!
Guitar Hero: Metallica is essentially the same as the other GH games, but obviously focuses on music by Metallica and other Metal bands. I haven't played GH: World Tour, but compared to GH 1, 2, and 3, in my opinion the overall quality of the music is better than in those games. The songs are generally more fun to play as well, due to the focus on instrumentals in the metal genre. Also, whereas I found GH: Aerosmith to be significantly easier than GH3, the difficulty level in Metallica is comparable, perhaps even slightly higher than in GH3. The fact that there are not as many songs as in other Guitar Hero games, and the lack of downloadable content make the game a little pricey. The game does include Metallica trivia, as well as some bonus videos of performances and such, which didn't really appeal to me all that much. Still, I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of both Guitar Hero and Metallica. Otherwise World Tour might be a better choice.
