All good, nice and cool now. Waited almost 2 weeks to get product though.
It's pretty quiet and seems to cool effectively. It was a little hard to get the side partitions to fit correctly, but we got it to work. It kept turning off seemingly randomly until we realized that our TV remote, VCR remote, and DVD remote all work on and change the settings on our air conditioner! I would put it far away from your TV to avoid this problem.
I have had this product for about 2 months and at first it was great. Now I am on the way to take it back. It is on high cool and am getting less air than my stand fan. I would not recommend this product for quality seems lacking.
I just bought this unit yesterday. I'm hoping it will continue to work because the reviews have not been great! This unit definitely cooled my bedroom down but it is kind of noisey. I don't care though because it's been so hot. The installation was pretty easy - all the parts were in the box. The best part was that I got it for $140 at Walmart - couldn't pass up that price.
So frustrating to open the box and find pieces missing! One of the side pieces was the wrong size, the other side piece was damaged. We plugged in the unit and it seemed to work fine....very quiet. However we have had trouble getting the side pieces replaced. We hate to have to pack it up and return it, but that may be the only choice we have.
I purchased this (more expensive) item and waited two weeks for it to be delivered expecting a much better unit. The day I picked it up I also bought a GE unit for $60 less for my bedroom. The Haier unit was much larger and louder. It also doesn't have a feature that allows it to stop running after the room has reached the set temperature. I bought it for my living room because of it's "ultra quiet" feature, but I have to turn the power off on the unit if I want to watch television - and then the room gets hot. The GE model was less expensive, smaller, much quieter, and has an energy saver feature that turns the unit on and off to maintain room temperature. If uninstalling the Haier wouldn't be such a pain I would return it and buy another GE unit.
Bought this unit on May 30, 2014 and had to return it to the store on July 15, 2014. It started out working exceptionally well, although it was quite noisy and the air directional components did not work. Also, when on the energy efficient setting, the fan never actually turned off, although the compressor did. Gradually, the air began to get warmer and warmer. Finally, the unit began blowing out hot air and the room ended up being hotter than it was outside. Took it back and got a Frigidaire. Hopefully that one will last longer.
Got this unit last year an it worked all rite. This year it started off ok for about two months then compressor went out. HAV tech's said it's cheaper to get a new than try to fix it.
First of all, the order through WalMart.com couldn't have been easier from start to finish. That includes the unfortunate return of the item. This window air conditioner was installed as directed, but the compressor would not run. We contacted Haier customer support and were told we could pay $14.95 to have a new compressor shipped out (wait, pay to fix a NEW unit? yes) We opted to return the unit to WalMart (which again, was the only pleasant experience in all of this.) Haier does make a good product, and we will probably try again, definitely through WalMart.com.
