Have had product about 5 weeks. Easy install. Have run on high setting continuously with no problems. Cools good.
I recommend not putting this ac in your bedroom if you plan on watching TV. Our room is a 20x20 room with a hot attic door in our room, and a bathroom and our stairway and this ac is able to cool it all!!!! BUT this loudness of it makes it difficult to hear the tv, unless you have no problem cranking the volumn up on the tv. I love the digital temp. reading. And this shuts on in off when the temp. gets cool and kicks back on when it gets warm. I will say that we have an APEX tv and the APEX remote must me on the same frequency as the AC, so our tv remote controls some of the features on our ac, so for example our volume button on our remote controls our ac temp. Its weird but its still ok. Easy installation too!
Our Air conditioner started failing at the beginning of October. Even though it was fall, there were plenty of very warm days. Our room is large and has lots of windows. During the day the sun would shine through the windows and make the room miserable. Stores started carrying heaters instead of air conditioners. I found this online and we had it in about 10 days. The price was reasonable and it cools a lot better than the old one ever did. It is a little loud, but I don't know of any window unit that's not. I would rather turn up the TV rather than sit and sweat and be miserable.
I bought the 8000 BTU Haier Window Air Conditioner and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I live in a really old house with terrible insulation, and the unit still managed to cool the living room, dining room, and kitchen to a comfortable temperature. The description on the box said it only cools up to 350 sq ft, but my house is a lot bigger than that and it still cooled it. The only bad thing about it is that it's pretty loud - when I watch movies I usually have to turn it off so I can hear it.
This is a very good A/C. I have very small windows, so it was the best size. All the others were to big. The only problem I have with it, it's a little on the loud side. I really like the remote. I only use the A/C when I sleep, which is in the daytime. So I turn it on and turn down the A/C in the rest of the house. It's much better then cooling the whole house when you are a day sleeper.
I have 2 of the Air Conditioners the first one I bought 2 years ago, and it has worked very well for me and was a bargain!
This is a good air conditioner for the price, not very loud, and nice and cool.
cools good but very loud, wouldnt use it for a bedroom unless you plan to be up all night!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought this unit and installed it as directed. It ran nice for about three weeks and then the electronic control panel went into error mode. Now it sits at 88 and nothing works at all on it. I looked on line at what this problem was and it appears that a lot of other people have had similiar problems. Not worth it to but this as it is a disposable unit and I will never buy another Haier built product.
I purchased this last year during the hottest months. At first it worked fine for a week, then it began to freeze up. I didn't keep my sales receipt, my fault, or I would have returned this product immediately. It's a waste of money. It might just be me or that I have bad luck, but when an A/C begins to freeze brand new out of the box in one weeks time there is a serious problem.
