Designed as a present for my brother. Already an accomplished musician on several stringed instruments, the mandolin has been a source of joy since arrival. He has mentioned how appreciative he is of the instruction kit & CD.
Just starting to go through the lessons but am enjoying getting my fingers toughened and anxious to learn the basics.
I'm wondering if this comes as a left-handed mandolin? All of Leonard's publications and product come right-handed or left-handed. Thank you. Ken Brady
Great product. After a bit os study, the guides made sense and the CD/DVD was a great help. Should probably include a tuner in the kit - that was an added expense.
This was a great gift for our son who has diabetes and had two legs below the knee amputated.he plays vireos guitars but they are too heavy for him now. He loves the mandolin. Thanks I am writing this for Michael.

This was a great gift for my daughter, a budding musician. It was easy for her to use the scale and chord charts to get started right away. Within a few days, she was playing all kinds of songs. What impressed me is the whole package with a quality instrument, great teaching resources and a dvd to watch and learn from.
Nothing out of the ordinary. First string broke before it was in tune. That's kinda industry standard so I ordered a couple sets of strings at the same time I ordered the kit. Books are well laid out like all Hal Leonard books. No complaints so far.
Excited to get it but as I took it out of the case the silver covering the bottom of the strings wasn't attached. Tried to reattach myself but no luck. Took it to a shop and they couldn't fix it either. Been told by a few people it wasn't a very good quality. Signals was very helpful about returning it though.
