It is firm but feels comfortable enough, and I love that it's easy to clean the spit up off the cover and core. The breathability gives me peace of mind as baby gets closer to rolling age.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start off by saying.... please get rid of the “standard” mattress pads that come with your bassinets. It's honestly a shame to consider those mattress pads as anything but comfortable for a baby. This dreamweave bassinet pad replacement is what babies deserve! My son loves his mattress! What I love about it is the thickness is much better than the “standard” ones. This pad is also breathable... hello.. winning!!! As a first time mom I am a worry wart, I can't help myself. I have a fear that my son is going to accidentally roll himself over and suffocate on the standard mattress pad. Once we received this dreamweave one I felt a sense of relief. If my son were to accidentally face down on the mattress he will be able to breath. Thanks to the weaved pattern in the mattress pad. Trust me when I say to upgrade your standard pads to this one. As a parent you won't regret it. From the texture, thickness and breath ability this mattress pad has it all! The pattern is also very cute!
Nice replacement to the original mattress, breathable and washable which is really convenient comparing to the original that could be only spot cleaned.
My son hated his BassiNest until we got this amazing mattress pad. I wish it came standard though - it was kind of annoying having to pay for the upgrade. Oh well! Baby is sleeping almost through the night now at 7 weeks And my husband and I are getting much needed sleep. Pad is night and day from the standard one. It is firm and safe for sleeping (we did the research) yet comfortable and padded with cooling gel for airflow - this is perfect for year round Southern California weather. Halo did good with this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally got this insert because I was looking at the newton breathable mattress but couldn't justify spending 300+ on a crib mattress and wasn't planning on using the crib right away anyway, so I looked around and found this insert. It checked all my boxes: breathable, machine washable, and made for a bassinet, not a crib. I love this insert!

Once you feel it though, you can definitely tell the difference. It feels much more padded but still breathable. I highly recommend getting this replacement if you aren't happy with the original mattress.
