My second coffee grinder . this one grinds enough for a 10 or 12 cup pot but as we all know the pots are for 6 ounce cups.I gave it five stars because my other grinder is doing great and it is the same brand but smaller ( good for two real cups ) and I needed a bigger one. This one has easy to set and grind features and that makes it easy to get a consistent grind. I like it....
It does everything except brew the coffee! Lots of thought went into this well designed grinder. I use the Espresso grind to obtain the most of coffee's benefits.....just grind less coffee beans to the water ratio. I use a drip brew Mr Coffee coffee maker.
When I first turned it on, the noise startled me a little. But, it worked quickly to evenly ground the coffee. This is my first coffee grinder. I found it easy to use, very effective and tasty. I recommend!
I had one of these Hamilton Beach Coffee Grinders for many years, but after using it every single day, it finally seized up. I did a lot of research thinking by now there's probably something better on the market. Turns out, there wasn't, you could buy a much more expensive coffee grinder and it would take up a lot more counter space, but after reading the reviews on some of the more expensive models, I decided to go back to this one. It didn't disappoint. I like the fact that in this price range, this little dynamo does it all. The others in this price range, you have to hold down the button and guess when to stop, this one stops automatically when it's at your desired grind. I'm glad I bought another one. It's a bit hard to find in stores, but you can buy it online and have it shipped to your local Walmart store.
This is a really great purchase! I've only had it a few weeks, but it seems well built and durable. It's quieter than I expected a grinder to be. I like the grinding options it offers. By the way, it makes good peanut butter!
Pre-ground coffee from the store is just too fine a grind for my french press, and I wanted something that was adjustable so that I could use it in my keurig reusable kcup too. This one does both and a few different sizes in between! Easy to use, easy to clean, and there are measurement lines and settings for 4,8, and 12 cups so you don't need to count out the scoops. The cord length is adjustable, and the lid locks on with a simple twist to keep curious fingers away from the blades, and it won't start unless the lid is locked in correctly.
I just picked this up at my local Walmart Supercenter 5 days ago. I ordered it online then picked it up in the store, which was super convenient! I've used my grinder so far to grind coffee beans and flax seeds, and I love how easy it is to choose a setting and the grinder grounds to perfect consistency. I can't wait to try it with fresh herbs! Cleaning the grinder is also easy. Take out the pieces, wash it with a little soap and water, and you're done. The cord storage in the bottom is another nice feature.
I bought this grinder to grind flax seed, quinoa, sesame seed and like seeds. It works very well. It takes just a few seconds to grind them into bran. I absolutely recommend it to anyone wondering if it works. I haven't had it long enough to say anything about durability, but it seems very well made. It's also easy to clean. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't vouch for grinding coffee beans. Based on how well it does the seeds I'm guessing it would do the job.
I had previous model which seemed better engineered. It lasted ~10 years and I wanted to replaced it exactly, but this is the closest I could get. The retractable cord has been eliminated (replaced with manual wind system) and the measuring fill lines have been eliminated as well (poor choice by Hamilton Beach). Performance of produce meets expectation at this point.
It broke after about 2 months. I used it once every other day and it seems like the motor has died. Waste of money. I was hoping it would last at least 1 year.
