Let me preface this review by saying that I am familiar with the Handi-Foil brand, and have used several of their products. I have always been impressed with the quality and design, but I have never used the giant pasta pan before. For ease of use, I will break this review down into categories. Design - This is a great looking pan, with no flair and a complete focus on the functionality. There isn't much to say about the design besides the smooth lines or raised bottom? Functionality - It does a fantastic job! I put four pounds of baked spaghetti in this thing and it did not burn or buckle. Verdict – 5 out of 5! I would definitely recommend this product to my friends, and will also surely track their future product releases as well.
The Handi-Foil Ultimate Giant Pasta Pan is perfect for the holiday season! I love making large batches of lasagna and mac and cheese for the holiday season and this pan i heavy duty and holds up to even the heaviest load of pasta. I love that it's a no-mess clean up so it makes my life so much easier during the busiest of times.
When they say giant pan they mean giant pan. This pan is 19 9/16 long by 11 5/8 wide by 3 3/16 inches deep. I cooked 3 pounds of spaghetti noodles plus all of the sauce and hamburger and cheese and it held it all. It had to be 10 pounds of food and even though you should support the bottom and sides when picking it up, it just seemed to support the weight better than the smaller aluminum pans. Just measure your oven before you buy one because it may not fit, I found that out the hard way, so I had to settle on regular spaghetti and not baked spaghetti. Handi-Foil is still made in the USA and cost about $3.20 per giant pan.
The product designers weren't kidding when they dubbed this the GIANT pasta pan. I was making stuffed shells for a family gathering and needed to feed about fifteen adults and five children. This gave us more than enough room to make the dish, add extra sauce and cheese, and safely cover it. Despite how heavily we packed it, it held up and didn't leak or cave. It's extremely durable, which you need if you want to transport ten pounds worth of food. Would buy again.
This pan was used to prepare, bake and serve a jumbo bag of frozen ravioli and 3 jars of sauce. It provided ample room to mix it all together and was deep enough to leave room to add cheese to the top. I was able to carry it without supporting the bottom (middle) as I do with most foil pans. The lip of the pan was wide enough to carry the full pan without any problems and to wrap the top with foil to protect the food. The foil pan is thicker and sturdier than any I've used. It's even tough enough to use more than once!
This is the biggest Foil Pan I've seen!! I was quite nervous to fill it with Shells or Lasagna. I feel it isn't sturdy enough to actually fill to the top and carry. It would be best to fill and not move or maybe put it on a cookie sheet and carry it that way. I used it as a buffet pan instead. We had spaghetti with meatballs, some mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. It was the perfect size to serve buffet style. I think if you rinse it out, it could be reusable. I'd even say you could cook a large turkey in this thing, again I would recommend placing on top of a cookie sheet or something more sturdy.
If you like cooking for a crowd this pan is for you. When they say giant they really mean it. This pan is sturdy as well. It fits double the lasagna that a normal pan does. I make some huge lasagna and this pan was strong enough to hold it. This would be great for stuffed shells or some Mac n cheese during the holidays. With thanksgiving coming up I see myself buying at least 5 of these. Go and get you one and you'll be impressed!
This disposable cooking pan is just as good as other name brands I've used for years. This particular pan is huge and can cook anything that is considered for a very large family or even party. I recommend this product especially if you are cooking something big or need something to hold a lot of food.
I have not used for cooking yet. I plan to use it to bake a bone in whole ham for Thanksgiving. I have used it as a support carrier for transporting food. I made a banana pudding to take to a birthday party. The foil pan I used was too flimsy so I used the Handi-Foil pan for support to take the banana pudding out of the oven. It was perfect for transporting the banana pudding to the party, also. It worked great. I didn't have to worry about the banana pudding sliding all around in the van. At the party I used the sturdy Handi- Foil pan for serving tacos. I have always used the foil pans from Sam's and always have to double the foil pans because too flimsy. This is the sturdiest foil pan I have ever used and will use from now on. It was very easy to clean for reuse.
We used it to make a casserole. The pan was a little deeper than I thought, but that was okay. I would recommend to support this giant pasta pan in the middle just because of the weight (it's not glass after all). It did a great job of cooking the casserole.
