Purchased this for a deck adjoining our pool. We wanted a heavy table that wouldn't blow off the deck when the winds were hard and chairs that were comfy and would dry quickly after a rain or wet bathing suits. Love this set - I guess I will be more apt to know how well it holds up after a few seasons outside. They were not difficult to put together - I'm a woman and did it myself. There was one chair in which the holes for the fittings in the base were off and would not screw in. I called the company that produces the chairs and they were very helpful. They told me that it might take 2 weeks for them to get a new chair base sent out, but I had it within 4 days.
Really happy with this set. Chairs are comfortable. They'll take a little breaking in since they are somewhat stiff but I expected that. I didn't want padded chairs that would absorb water. I like the table and especially like that it doesn't have a glass top.
Very well made set! It was a bit tricky to unpack it and assemble but I love it. I imagine it will last for a very long time and look just has beautiful
After extensively searching online, I went with this setting for a number of reasons; size, features, and value being the predominant ones. Starting with the chairs, the slings seem of average quality, and very tight. I expect they'll last as many years as my old Brown and Jordan slings. The rocking motion is minimal and tight. If you want a more natural rocking motion, I'd suggest the set wit the round rocking mechanism on the bottom of the chair. Of course, that will add both cost and ""size"" to each chair. The table is plenty large for the 6-chair setting. My only ding with it, is that it's not terribly thick. Even discounting for it being cast aluminum, it could have been cast thicken. Still though, I don't see it taking a beating, so the thickness shouldn't be an issue. More esthetics I suppose, than anything. The design of the table etching isn't terribly good either. Again, it's not bad, but clearly it's not a very sharp design. This may speak more to the casting process than the actual design though. Unpacking and putting it together: Be prepared for a LOT of packing materials. It was all very well packed. And while not difficult to put together, many people will find a second set of hands will be helpful when putting the chairs together. The table was very simple. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. This set will take a beating in the Georgia summers, so we'll see how long it lasts. But at least initially, I'm very happy with it.
