I was impressed with the Hart 12' AutoLock tape measure. It has a limited lifetime warranty. The print is big and bold and easy to read.I like that it has fraction markings which make measuring more accurate and fast. It has a sturdy belt clip. The blade lock holds the blade steady until you release the switch. It retracts smoothly to prevent finger cuts. The tape doesn't flop over like others I have used. I would highly recommend. It would make a great gift.
- AUTO LOCK! The best feature. Pull to measure and the tape stays put. This tape will NOT budge when you stop pulling. Tape WON"T retract until you press the blue button. (Snaps closed super fast . . wouldn't recommend for young children) - EASY to read. I appreciate the BOLD black numbers and alternating color of the fractions. - Rubbery case is NICE to grip, stands up and won't scratch anything. - End Hook is huge, (plus if need be, smaller teeth on other side). - Slim, tight clip to hang on belt or pants. Impressed with the quality build. Especially for the price! I have several tape measures and this is hands down, the best 12' tape I've ever owned.
I love that when you pull the tape out ,you don't have to push the button down to lock the tape like you do with other tape measures in fact it's just the opposite of other tape measures. You have to push the button down to release the tape from the extended position
This Hart auto lock tape measure is compact and comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. It is well made and has fraction markings for quick and accurate reads. It has an oversized hook that grabs from top or bottom for user convenience. Superior hook attachment for increased durability. The auto lock feature is strong...the tape doesn't give and is easy to retract. Made in Vietnam. I will carry this in my purse. It will make easy to measure furniture and pictures to see if they will fit where I want them to go at home.
All these years I've been holding the extended tape with my finger carefully to measure accurately and though I still love my older original measuring tape, this new one has been my go to lately. It's not bulky and when you pull the tape out it stays put until you press the blue button. It doesn't go limp or wiggle around making it hard to measure.
Having a tape that stays extended until you push the retract button frees up on hand when working on projects. This is my go-to tape measure. Also great quality and value. This tape measure has one innovation that would make it worth twice the price. The default is that the outstretched tape is locked. You have to press the button to retract it. Many fingers would be saved if all measuring tapes worked this way. I've seen someone almost lose a finger when his tape measure snapped back. Most tape measures snap back automatically unless you lock them. This one does not move until you tell it to. So you know when to make sure your fingers are in a safe place.
This Hart 12 foot retractable tape measure is super compact, almost too small for large hands but a great size for household projects. The white case is a durable plastic, covered in black grippy rubber where needed for comfort and grip. The bottom has flat surfaces to which it can sit upright on rubberized feet and not topple over or slip around. The retraction button is.. too small for comfortable retraction, and it's grip-no-grip catch is a bit annoying to anyone that's used to a 'clutch' control while retracting the tape. It's all in, or locked. The tape itself is 5/8" (16mm) wide, stud marked at every 16", and also marked at 12" intervals as well with a 1ft, 2ft, 3ft etc. 1/8", 1/4, 1/2 printed and tick marks throughout the entire tape length. The tape has a silky matte surface coating that slides in and out smoothly and easily. The Hook end is very sturdy with a large Hook riveted four times to a backing plate and the tape. Apart from the annoying go-no-go retracting button that's a bit difficult to operate, it's a very nice 12' tape measure. Happy to have it in my arsonal.
This is a pretty good tape measure. It's small and compact and could fit inside your pocket or on your belt clip. The one I received was 12 foot long. So it would work for smaller jobs. I see that it retails for $4.88 at Walmart. Good tape measure for The average guy
they work good for the first 2 1/2 weeks then the locking button stop working. for the quality, you better pay $2 $3 for one stanley.
