[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this ratchet to remove all the oil pan bolts on my 71 ford helped a ton and worked great even though she has been through a lot lol
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hart Ratchet set works incredibly well! It definitely makes getting the job done so much easier, and is a huge time saver! This has a lot of power to it which is terrific! It made the bolts so much easier to loosen and tighten. It takes roughly a few hours to charge and stays charged for a good couple of days, depending on usage. This one came with the battery and charging dock. I honestly look for ones that have the battery and charger included, as I don't want to purchase them all separately. That's one thing I really like with Hart products, they include those in with the tools. Another plus with that is, you can use the batteries and charger for other Hart products too! Now I will say this Ratchet is a little on the heavier side, so I'd love to see a more light weight one made. Also, it is quite long, so maybe a mini, lighter version of this would be awesome as well! This has a two finger speed trigger on it, making it easier to control. I got this for my Father, he's a mechanic. He is also a very picky mechanic and he really liked this Rachet set. It also has a light so when he's working on cars it makes it so much easier to see. He doesn't have to try and hold a light up to see now. Also, this being cordless is a huge help as well. He doesn't have to worry about and cords being in the way and its honestly just much easier. Plus a lot safer, no cords you have to worry about tripping over! This tool will make a perfect gift for someone that does construction, carpentry, automotive, etc. It's definitely a nice tool to have handy and it works wonderful! We absolutely recommend, Hart has some of the best affordable tools!
This ratchet packs quite a punch, yet is still light weight enough to use without tiring your hand. The light makes it easy to see the bolt, and it stays on for a while without having to try and hold the trigger part way down like with many drills. It was exceptionally handy when I had to replace the motor in the heat exchanger, and the multi-speed trigger made it easy to start the screws back in without stripping anything. All those little bolts aggravate my arthritis and this ratchet made short work of them. You change it from forward to reverse just like a regular ratchet. If you use any Hart tools you already know this, but for those who don't, 20v Hart batteries fit any 20v Hart tool and this ratchet is no exception. Be sure to purchase a battery and charger if you don't already have one. I haven't had it long enough to really abuse it, but it seems pretty tough and the battery didn't weaken while I was using it. I am happy with this ratchet and recommend it to anyone who has a use for this type of tool. You'll be wondering why you ever used a regular hand ratchet.
I got this a few weeks ago and have given it a good looking over. It seems to be quality made and it comes with a three year limited warranty. It's a good size. Not too big. Not too small. It has a good feeling in the hand and it's balanced well. It weighs about 2 pounds on my kitchen scale. Unfortunately, it didn't come with a battery and I haven't been able to put it through its paces yet. But, I hope to get one soon. And, with a 3 year warranty, I don't think I have anything to worry about.
In the past year, I have started using HART products and I have been amazed at how efficient and powerful they have been. When I got this ratchet to add to my tool kit, I had a battery already charged so I plopped it on there to take out to the farm with us that day. My husband had a drive/bit to use because the ratchet did not come with any. Our task was to lower a cattle chute made of railroad ties (old, tough wood). I was basically seeing if I could kill this tool because it is battery operated. We used it all over the job and it performed like a champ! I would normally use a compact for the job but it was a good chance to try the ratchet. I am so excited to have this tool and can't wait to see what else it can do. My husband says he will definitely use it on our vehicles. The slim battery pack design makes it perfect for getting into tight spaces. I can't wait to buy additional HART tools and it is awesome having the battery power on the farm where there is no electricity. Another thing I like about HART products is that they are lightweight and easy to tote - even the lawn tools like the trimmer and blower that I also have. I have considered these as gifts for the men in my family as well. Great product and well made!
I just received this in the mail yesterday. The shipping was very quick, but a bit odd. This arrived in its original box, and was just left on my porch. Thankfully, I live in an area where I don't have to worry about theft, but I did find it off putting. I understand not wanting to be wasteful, but it just seems that shipping items in an exposed manner is risky in this day and age. The ratchet itself is quite nice. It's a very solid piece, so you know it's not going to bust on you during the first use. You do have to buy the battery pack for it, but even that isn't a big deal.
While this is a good Ratchet and has some decent torque, its more for a home owner DIYer. The size is huge for a 1/4 ratchet but its unavoidable when it uses the same batteries as the other 20v tools. The color as ive mentioned in other Hart tool reviews was a giant oversight, white is not the color you want to use on a tool thats gonna get dirty. It only looks nice and clean once. Also this thing will not stand up on its own. I want to be able to stand it up on end but due to the battery placement it wont stand up straight which makes it fall over and you can only lay it down on its face. Other than my nit picking it does seem to be and feel like a quality tool. Only reason I wouldn't recommend it to friends is everyone i know run more name brand or higher end power tools. I included a picture of it next to my Snap-on 14.4v electric ratchet for a size comparison. It is rated at 35ftlbs and 350rpm compared to the Harts 30ftlbs and 250rpm. This is comparing apples to oranges since one is roughly 6.5 times the cost but the size to power just isnt there, Id expect it to at least have the same rated power as its competitors for its size. This really woulda done better if it was a 3/8 drive ratchet. But i still do really like this ratchet and use it regularly in less tight spots. It also makes a good at home shop loaner for when friends to use when they come by to work on their cars. It mainly sits in my spare snap on box at home for less crucial work.
I have a pistol grip ratchet but I wanted to try this angle ratchet. Don't know why they call it a "ratchet kit" when there's nothing else in the box than a ratchet (no battery, charger, bits, sockets). I did a head-to-head with my Ryobi ratchet pistol grip model. They both screwed a 1/4" hex bolt through the 3-1/2" width of a 2x4. The Hart is a lot noisier and a bit slower than the Ryobi. It also has the switch to change directions at the top so you can't use the same fingers as you use to activate the trigger. The trigger is a bit clunky sounding; doesn't seem to feel heavy duty. All-in-all as the title reads, it's a light-duty ratchet good for most home use when you prefer a "stick" ratchet rather than a pistol grip.
The HART 20V 1/4" Ratchet Kit is a lightweight, portable, and practical ratchet tool that's a handy addition to any toolbox, but it lacks significant torque for really tough jobs. It's simple to use with an on/off switch and trigger to activate. A traditional manual turn dial on the topside of the ratchet opposite the anvil changes the direction. There's also a well placed LED light that shines on whatever you're working on. You need to have a 20V HART lithium ion battery pack to go with this, but they work with other HART products so you can get more value out of that investment. Any 1/4 socket should fit this tool so you don't need to buy a new set of sockets. I recommend this product for any light job.
I have had this for a few weeks now and have tried to use it multiple times. It doesn't have the torc needed to work on anything with. I would not recommend these tools to anyone. Would probably work better for smaller jobs but does not function the way I need it too. And what's even worse you have to buy the battery and charger separately.
