This 15 piece reciprocating saw blade set seems to be very complete and is very likely to contain any blade that I ever expect to need. The Multi-Purpose blades are especially appealing because you can cut through old lumber that might contain nails or staples and probably not destroy the blade when you cut into one. All of the blades are well-marked for their intended purpose and the only one that you really have to remember is that the Multi-Purpose blades are the ones that can cut through nails. The blades fit nicely into my old Black & Decker cordless reciprocating saw. Up until now I always only seemed to have a few blades here and there and could never seem to put them in the right place where I could easily find one, but the entire 15 piece set of these Hart blades fit into the included container so I'm expecting the quality of my life to be improved, at least a little. So far I have found my Hart tools to be of high quality so I'm expecting the same from these blades.
Above average performance at a below average price... ! Average means different things to different people. I expect a lot from a blade, ONE BLADE. when I get started The pictures show what I think average is for a,(one), pruning blade. The paint and the name are worn off, but I am still cutting.
This is a great assortment of reciprocating saw blades. I use my saw a lot for tree trimming and these blades are getting the job done with ease. A good assortment of different blades are included.
These blades are terrific. If you have used metal blade on hard metal you'll know they don't last. These are pretty tough and do a really decent job on cutting through hard metal before getting dull. That's the metal blades. The wood blades are equally good and so far are still going strong. I use them for storm cleanup and demo work. I got to put them to use with Ida's visit here. I really like the case. I've had a case for shorter blades but never one for the longer blades. This is probably my favorite part of the kit. These blades are easily as good as the name brand blades sold at HD and other hardware stores.
These are really good blades for the price. I was quite surprised. Hart seems to be serious about getting their share of the homeowner tool market. The metal that these blades are made from is as thick - or possibly thicker - than the 'yellow' and 'red' contractor grade blades that I have used in the past. More than good enough for the average homeowner. I'd probably even give them a shot if I were a contractor. The pruning blades were especially impressive. I hadn't seen any with teeth that coarse before, and that thing ripped through a two and a half inch tree branch like a chainsaw. The standard wood and the all-purpose blades? I have absolutely no doubt that they'll perform as well as any of the 'premium' brands. It doesn't take super secret heat-treated titanium ninja blades to cut through wood or PVC. The metal cutting blades look and feel absolutely high quality, but even if, for some reason, they only last half as long as the contractor brand blades, they're still well worth it. The little case that came with them is actually pretty thick plastic and is a nice touch. You can carry spares or different types of blades in your pocket without worrying about anything getting snagged. A 15 blade assortment, this versatile, for about the price of a 3-pack of contractor blades? Yeah. Deal me in.
This Hart reciprocating saw blade set is ideal for most jobs. The set, as you can see in the photo, has 15 blades of ten 6 inches and five 9 inches. You can use your saw to cut metal, wood, do pruning and it has three all purpose blade. I like the 6 inch blade best, they don't tend to jam and bend in tight spots. Also the blade work very good in my hand held jab type saw. These blades are sharp and fit nicely in either saw. The set even has a container to keep the blades together when you need them. All I need now is to get myself a 20volt cordless reciprocating saw so I can go out in the yard to prune. I really like this set and if you have a reciprocating saw look into this set.
These blades are good for Diy'ers but dont compare to some name brand blades. The metal and all purpose blades are pretty thin and bend easily. The others are decently thick and held up nicely. What i dont understand with this kit is why they give you so many Pruning blades and less metal and wood blades. How many people are realistically using their reciprocating saw to prune trees and bushes. It would be nicer if they swapped out one of the smaller and one of the bigger pruning blades for basic wood blades or even better a metal blade. Onto the next gripe, The plastic case included would be better if it opened up alittle wider so the blades dont get caught on the top. Not a big deal but alittle bit of an oversight during the design. The top is pretty tight tho and the blades dont fall out when tipping it upside down which is nice.
This is a pretty impressive little container of reciprocating saw blades. Besides the fetching little container, there are... Among the 6" blades: 3 all purpose. 3 pruning. 2 wood cutting. 2 metal cutting. Among the 9" blades: 3 wood cutting/pruning. 2 all-purpose cutting. I have to say, the pruning blades intrigued me the most. I've done carpentry (amateur, on my own homes) for years and never really heard much about using a reciprocating saw for pruning. Since my only reciprocating saw is a Dewalt corded I can't really use those yet but I plan to correct that with either a Hart or a Kobalt (I have a vet discount at Lowes) cordless. For this review, I used a metal cutting blade on some PVC pipe and tried an all-purpose blade and a pruning blade on a 2X4 just to see how it went through. The metal cutting blade cut the pvc perfectly. That's how I usually cut larger pieces of PVC so I knew this blade would probably do fine. I don't have any metal to cut so I can't say how well it cuts metal. I would expect it would be fine for softer thin metals but the blade would wear quickly cutting any kind of hard metal like steel. At least that's been my experience with jigsaw blades. The all-purpose blade struggled to cut through a 2X4. The pruning blade chewed right through it but you won't get a clean cut. If you're using a "sawzall", then you're probably not cutting trim for you windows so it's not going to be an issue. For serious demolition work, they'll work great. I'm still thinking these pruning blades are going to be great when I get a cordless... Overall, sure, for basic reciprocating saw blades that will last you a long time, unless you demo through more remodels than "This Old House", these are a great choice. Other than the circular saw that had a flimsy base plate, I've been pretty impressed with Hart tools.
I don't think I'll need any more blades due to this generous quantity and high quality pack from Hart tools. A few different sizes and lengths to supply me with everything I need for my saw. I have a different brand reciprocating saw and these fit and performed with no problems
This mixture of blades is great to tackle any project you can think of. There are plenty of different lengths for absolutely any project; like the one we are about to start in my house. Can't wait to get started.
