Love the storage box, very handy. The bits are in there pretty firmly so you do not have to worry about them falling out and getting lost. Used them in my cordless drill, worked great. Only used them on wood but they are also compatible with metal and PVC. Nice start since they help you from slipping. Great assortment of sizes, something for every project. Cannot comment on speed since I am very careful when drilling and go as slow as I can.
Top of the line drill bit set with all the sizes you will ever need. The set is made of titanium, which is very rated for use on even most types of metal. The shank end of the most commonly usedbits have 3 flat sides, so it locks on tight to your drill without any slipping. The drill bit points are angled just enough to where the bit won't slide around when trying to start a hole. I've used it on a wood project and they drill through wood like butter. The included case is also handy because you can easily keep up with the sizes of the bits and keep them organized. If you are looking for a high quality bit set, this is a great choice. It fits the bill for any project and will last a long time.
This set goes beyond what I thought high quality bits that help me get through many jobs with ease. I think every home needs a good drill and set of bits to be able to do many jobs around the house. I highly recommend this set comes in so many sizes and the case keeps it right where you can find it next time.
If you haven't bought drill bits in a long time, like me, you'll find there are several new kids on the block. While they are all high speed steel (HSS) bits under their fancy clothes, each is better at specific tasks. We'll stick with Titanium only for this review. Steel bits covered with a Titanium nitride coating drill faster, with less friction and heat, which also helps material move through the bit and away easier. They can last up to 6x's longer than standard steel bits. Recommended for wood, metal and PVC plastic, using them for hard metals like stainless steel and wrought iron will increase drilling speed, but hasten the removal of the coating from the bit. At that point they are just regular steel bits again. They can be resharpened, but you lose the special abilities of the Titanium coating. Other features found on the Hart Titanium bits: Starting at the 1/8" bits and larger, a split point tip, which keeps the bit is place as you start to drill. The larger bits from 25/64" to 1/2" all feature a shank with 3 flat sides to help keep the bit from slipping in the chuck. This is a great collection of bits, especially for the average DIY homeowner. The 29 piece set (see size chart below) and advantages of the Titanium coating give you the flexibility to tackle most jobs with a big head-start. You'll also love the durable case which closes securely, so your bits are where they should be next time you need one.
This is a nice set of drill bit ranging from 1/16 to 1/2 inch for drilling clean and accurate holes in wood, metal and PVC. My hubby likes the 135° split point tip that helps prevent bit from walking and cuts up to 4X faster. He says he likes the assortment of the smaller drill sizes because He does alot of smaller projects. The drill set comes with a protective carry case that has indexing which makes it easy for him to find the right size drill. The larger size drills have a straight shank with three flats to prevent slipage when drilling which is great for hard woods and metals. He said He thinks for the price you can't go wrong with this 29 piece titanium drill bit set. He would recommend you give them a try, you won't be sorry..I know a few Grandsons that will be getting a set of these for Birthdays this year. Great gift for them and Ny Husbands will be safe from them.
I received this Hart 29P Titatium drill bit set from the Spark Review Program. It has all the bits you need packed in its own case. This is a good well made set and does a wonderful job. All the bits come in a well made plastic case making these bits easy to take with you. I would highly recommend this set to anyone.
I got his drill bit set for my husband because he said he needed them, and I knew that Hart was an outstanding tool company. This set offers a wide assortment of bits for drilling clean and accurate holes in wood, metal and PVC. My husband is a handy man around our house and other homes when people ask. So I knew this set would come in handy for him. These drill bits are 135° split point tip and they drill up to 4X faster and helps prevents bits from walking for an easier start. He said the first time he tried them out that they were better than any other bits he had used in the past. My husband knows his tools, so I knew he was telling me they were awesome drill bits. This set includes 29 titanium drill bits in a variety of sizes and storage case. The storage case keeps them neatly stored away and all in one place. Easy to just pick up the case and go to your next handy man or handy women job. They have Titanium coating, which helps with the performance of these bits and the speed at which they work. So far he has used them in wood, metal, and PVC pipe. The set Includes: (1) Case (1) 1/16" (1) 5/64" (1) 3/32" (1) 7/64" (1) 1/8" (1) 9/64" (1) 5/32" (1) 11/64" (1) 3/16" (1) 13/64" (1) 7/32" (1) 15/64" (1) 1/4" (1) 17/64" (1) 9/32" (1) 19/64" (1) 5/16" (1) 21/64" (1) 11/32" (1) 23/64" (1) 3/8" (1) 25/64" (1) 13/32" (1) 27/64" (1) 7/16" (1) 29/64" (1) 15/32" (1) 31/64" (1) 1/2"
This drill set is pretty good, although it came damaged from the factory and the three smallest bits were literally cut in half and one of the top halves of a drill bit was lodged between the cover and the casing. Very odd. And actually, I use those tiny ones the most (this is for home and crafting use). I have used it so far to help with some around-the-house projects, so mostly the smaller bits, and found the bits themselves sturdy and had no problems with the grabbing or anything, so performance-wise they are fine for the price point, so I'm giving them four stars. The only other problem I have with them is that case is so darn thick! This is my third set of drill bits in my tool bag, and these are by far the biggest case in the lot, although they are all the same number of drill bits. I don't know why the case has to be so HUGE! But maybe some people would like that, I don't particularly, but don't suppose it's a huge problem per se. At any rate, no real problem with these.
I purchased this set to go with my new drill (HPID26 20v), but they don't fit and the don't have 3 flat sides. Is there an adapter for these bits? Also, why are most of these bits round and not 3 sided?
First, a case is always good for bits. They don't get lost or dulled. These are sharp and fit very tightly in their respective holes. Almost too tightly. Have to be careful not to cut yourself. I may use the bits to make their holes just a bit larger. Or not, but they are tight. I have tested these on wood and they are fast and clean. They did better than my regular bits, altho my regulars are well used, so that may have played into it. But I like these and I like the variety of sizes and the case for them so I know they're all there. I like the tips especially when doing small and delicate. They stay in place while getting started. Or when having to drill at an angle. I haven't tried them on plastic, but am getting ready to try them on steel. I have a project which requires drilling thru a metal strip. One thing I would love to see, is "Made in the USA". It's time.
