Love it! I am in love with this mower. My boyfriend helped me screw the handles together and I popped the battery in and got it started. He sat back on the porch and laughed at me until he saw the power of this bad boy then he had to come try it out. It’s light and it cuts like a gas powered mower but with less noise and the biggest pro-no gas! The way gas prices have went up I can barely afford to put gas in my car let alone a mower. So I charged the battery for maybe 6 hours the night before and I got my entire front yard and half of my backyard cut before it went dead but my grass was also wet in spots and this was my first time cutting it since last year. This will definitely save me money in the long run. It came already put together except for the mulcher tray thingy or whatever on the side. Another plus is that it folds flat so it’s easy to store. I just leave mine upright and store it in the garage. The battery compartment has a black cover and I plan on buying another battery so I can switch them out and finish my yard without having to stop and recharge one. I have a riding mower but this gets a closer cut which hopefully will make me have to cut my grass less. I love this thing for real and I would definitely recommend it. I pray it lasts for a lifetime.
The adjustable height for the blade really comes in handy to get the grass down as low as you like it. If the battery stayed charged a little longer I would have no complaints.
Great so far , it's a little louder/sounds different than a normal gas lawn mower. Only used it three times so far. It works great. I love how it's just charging a battery every once in a while instead of checking and putting gas in. I have a small yard I was able to cut my grass at least twice on one charge the 3rd time I charged it just to be on the safe side. I don't know how it would work on a larger yard. It came with a attachment, so it would blow grass instead of mulching it, which is great if your grass is a little bit longer or you feel you need it .
Well, being 65 all I have known are the obnoxious, loud, stinking, chug chugging, grimy, ugly gas powered mowers! So, I had no idea what to expect with this battery operated mower! I am ecstatic!! It truly is space age! And beautiful. It is powerful and cuts quickly. The noise It makes is medium loud, but is a pleasant hummmmm. Of course, no fumes or grease. It was December, so no grass, but did quick work of the leaves!! After I was finished, I removed the battery and wiped it down with a damp cloth. I’m keeping it in the basement (via Bilco doors) as it’s too nice and I don’t want it to be in the shed. Of course you can. So A++ for this beauty… will never go back!
I was shopping for a mower with little maintenance (no gas, no oil). I came across this battery operated mower. It is very lightweight. It cuts the grass like any gas mower I have owned in the past. I will recommend buying a second battery just to have a back up. I like how easy it is easy to adjust the cut height. The best part there is no pull cord. I have mowed my grass in Florida twice already. If it lasts me 12 months I am good with that. Hiring a lawn mowing company has become expensive.
This review is for the HART 40 volt 18 inch side discharge cordless electric lawnmower. It starts with just the push of a button—and says it can cut up to 1/3 of an acre on one charge, although I didn't try to cut that much. I cut an area of about 20ft x 30ft and it was still running strong. I love the fact that you can adjust the height of the cut from 1.5" to 4" by adjusting only 1 lever. My other mower had to be adjusted at all 4 wheels. The battery is 40 volts/6.0 amp and is pretty big. I included a picture next to a pencil for reference. It is super easy to operate. Just slide the battery in, hold the button in on the handle and push the lever and release the button. A great safety feature is the added start key that must be in place for it to run. Great if you have little kids. You can discharge the grass or remove the chute to mulch. Takes about 10 seconds to change. This mower folds down very quickly for flat storage or transportation, and is very lightweight, which is very convenient to take to our campsite. You will love it. 5 stars. The only thing I would recommend is purchasing it with 2 batteries if it is an option. Mine came with 1 battery and a charger so I will be buying another battery to always have 1 fully charged.
The Hart mower is a pretty descent mower. I really like it. That being said, i will definitely need to get a second battery. But why on earth the battery itself costs almost as much as the whole mower and set up is beyond me. I might as well just buy a second mower and have two.
I loved the mover being quiet and light. It started so easily and was not a burden to start using like I felt with the gas powered mowers I've always used in the past. It was super easy to set up too. It also did a good job cutting my lawn, although it did stall several times when I hit taller thicker grass. I was so happy with it, until the wheel broke, just like that! No unordinary movements or use, no extreme conditions, and it just broke, on my first use of it! I was quite disappointed and proceeded with a return unfortunately.
Box had what looked like water damage top to bottom on one corner. Corner was split on top outer layers. Paper peeling shedding. Also back side of box scraped. I helped load into back if my car, but that corner wasn't showing on the side that I lifted. Opened box at home. No visible damage to mower so plugged battery into charger. Used mower first time today. My yard is 0.33 acres. The grass was 3-3.5 high. Within the first 10 minutes of cutting I saw a small white puff of smoke/steam. I was not using side shoot and didn't smell anything burning so continued. Then a couple more puffs. I thought maybe the moisture in the grass is causing? Have owned gasoline and electric corded mowers over years and have never seen this before. It was a humid florida morning. No burning smell so kept cutting. I cut 1/5 of the .33 acres and the machine shut off. Maybe 45 minutes into cutting. I was walking slow because it was a hot Florida morning. Brought battery in put on charger it was down to 1 blue dot. Very disappointed after reading this battery outlasts the other models with only 4ah. Will see what is does after battery recharged but white puffs and damaged box concerns me. I didn't get the extended warranty/insurance because $200 purchases should last at the very least what the manufacturer claims. This model is 5yr on lawn mower and 3yrs on battery. What I can say good about it is the mower cuts evenly, runs quiet, is light weight, and easy to push. If it would run puff free and for the whole 0.33 acres would be a five star. I will see how it does tomorrow.
I did read the reviews before I purchased and everyone talks about it coming broken, Specifically the wheel. And I don't know if it's during shipping or because they are made cheap. But I'd re model and the wheels or make promises to replace them for free because of it being so common for them breaking. Or package them with a couple extra wheels. I didn't actually get to use the mower but I put the battery in when I opened it and it started right up. I have not contacted the seller or Walmart yet. I think I'm going to return it and pay the extra for gas.
