This Hart 6-Piece Assorted Hex Shank Spade Bit Set is awesome! It is perfect for drilling clean holes into wood! These bits have what they call a tripoint top which is the secret for the clean drilling. We have numerous outdoor projects that require drilling into wood and I was really amazed because when my husband started drilling into the 2x4 pieces of wood that we have outside...it was through the wood in just a matter of seconds! What makes these bits even better (you can see by the pics) is that the holes are clean. There is no chips surrounding the holes or in the holes, just a clean, precise cut! This set comes with a nice little storage case which I really love because it will help keep up with the bits so they are not scattered all over the storage work area. This set includes a 3/8 inch, 1//2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, 7/8 inch and a 1 inch bit. They have a 1/4 inch hex shank and are designed to be used will drills and drivers only. You need to be extra careful when you remove one of these bits from the storage box because they are very, sharp! I am very pleased with my set and would highly recommend this product! I think it would make a perfect gift for the man in your life that does any type of woodworking or construction!
I got these for my significant other for his drill. They seem very solid steel, made to go through wood to make different size holes. There are 6 different sizes, made to fit in a standard drill bit holder. There's really not a whole lot to say but he is looking forward to using them on woodworking projects outdoors once the weather permits it. I would highly recommend this set of six drill spade bits.

these bits are beautifully made.they are easy to use and they go through wood like butter. i look forward to using these bits for a very long time. i would say to anyone who has the need for a tool like this you can not go wrong with these bits.
These spade bits get the job done with ease! I have a Ryobi drill that these quickly went in. I had no issues with the use of the product. It sliced right through my project! And as you can see, they were very clean cuts because there is no sign of damage in the photo. I really like the case the bits came in. This case is compact and does not take up a lot of space in the tool box. They are very well laid out and accessible. I look forward to using these bits on several other projects. The bits are clearly labeled. This is good for someone with bad eye sight like myself. You do not have to look hard as it is easily visible on the blade. After using the product, it easily went back in its assigned space in the case. There was no "fussing" with it to get everything to sit right. I like the clear case because you can see what is in the box. I know my tools pretty well, and keep them pretty organized. So, I would know where everything is when I am looking quickly. However, I know everyone is not as neat as I am, and this will be a major benefit to them. It is easy to look in the box too and see which one is missing if you let your neighbor borrow one and you cannot remember which size. All in all, I 100% recommend this product as it is durable and gets the job done! Great work HART.
I am a Hart fanatic lately. I got their 14-piece Titanium Drill Bit set AND this spade bit set. If you want to build or repair furniture or do trick cabinetry, you need spade bits. I do a lot of "peg" work where instead of using screws, I use hardwood pegs to hold things together, such as the benches for my big farm table (also pegged). I also like to use spade bits to countersink screws so that I can put a wooden "button" over the screw and no screwheads show. Go beyond beginner's work with spade bits! The case is great -- clear -- and each spade bit is etched and easy to read. I highly recommend these.
The 6-piece assorted hex shank spade bit set it's made out of smooth metal with the size of each bit clearly ingraved on the flat part. They are sharp at the tips and the spade area to drill through the wood without any problem while removing the saw dust from the hole at the same time leaving a perfectly round clean hole for your project. The bits come in a well designed hard white plastic case with bit holders that flip for easy access to select the size you may need and the top of the case made out of clear plastic for easy viewing while closed. These bits would be nice for a handyman or a Craftsman. I used them to build crafts and decorative items for around house. For some easy to make projects you could drill holes for pegs in a piece of wood and make them nice coat, towel or scarf hanger, or holes for bird houses. The possibilities are endless!
Not sure these are contractor grade, but certainly fine for homeowner use. I would certainly purchase again. The case is very convenient for carrying around.
These Hart 3 point wood spade drill bits are a nice addition to my drill but set. They come in a nice case to hold them and to keep the tips from dulling being in a drawer sliding around.
